Spurs will be looking to the summer in the hope of making some excellent signings to improve on a squad which is extremely close to challenging for honours in the Premier League.
The Londoners have once again qualified for the Champions League, and will be hopeful that with a few new additions, they can push Manchester City and United closer in the top two and really cement their place as a force to be reckoned with in the top flight.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino will no doubt have a few targets in mind, and our landlord here in the Tavern has been trying to piece together in his head just who the Spurs gaffer might well be eyeing up.
One player who he has been bringing up in conversation this week at the bar is young Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans, who is developing into a top class performer following a few successful seasons with Monaco.
The 21-year-old Belgian, who is valued at £18m by Transfermarkt, looks to have all the makings of a world class central midfielder, and he is the sort of player who we can see really developing and Spurs and becoming a Premier League star.
Classy with the ball but not afraid to put his foot in and get involved, Tielemans has a bright future in the game. While Monaco are a big club in their own right, it would appear inevitable that he will move on eventually, and a move to a club like Spurs would be perfect.
The ideal replacement for the outbound Moussa Dembele, Tielemans could well go down as a Spurs legend if signed.
