Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern think they are on the brink of the big-time under Jose Mourinho once more.

The Red Devils suffered a significant blip early on in this season but they have all but recovered from that now with them just a handful of points outside the top four.

Away from the Premier League, things have been looking up, too, with them in the final of the EFL Cup this weekend, through to the last 16 of the Europa League and still in contention for the FA Cup.

The former Chelsea boss appears to be turning things around, then, and our landlord reckons there will be quite the squad overhaul in the summer.

That means outgoings as well as in-comings, then, and so, with that in mind, here are two players he reckons United fans cannot wait to see leave once the window opens for business…

Ashley Young

Ashley Young is no longer the exciting winger that many thought would be a key part of the England set-up.

Hampered by injuries and the massive competition for places at a club like United, Young simply has just fallen by the way-side and is now only used when Mourinho wants to build a brick wall at the back. His career looks over at Old Trafford and so it’s time to sell up.

Marouane Fellaini

Fellaini really does divide opinion – especially when he does put the odd good performance in.

However, he is always appearing to be on a tight-rope at United with one bad performance leading to a mob calling for him to be shown the door. That’s not really good enough for the Old Trafford side and so it’s probably best that he is let go in the summer.
