Our Liverpool fans inside the Transfer Tavern are hoping Jurgen Klopp gets it right in this upcoming winter window.
A theme has hampered the Reds season so far and it’s all been about the leaky defence, conceding silly goals and the recent extraordinary 2nd half Sevilla collapse have all helped towards criticism from pundits and our regulars alike.
Klopp will be hoping to throw his net far and wide in order to rectify this situation in January and, alongside his current attack, if he can get the backline sorted, some of our punters can envisage a strong second half to the season for the Anfield giants.
Furthermore, the German needs an Ahmed Hegazi to plug the leaks if they want to start to challenge for trophies in the near future after impressing for West Brom this season, marshalling their backline.
With that in mind, our landlord takes a look at two potential players that could follow the Egyptian international to Liverpool…
Romain Saiss

The defensive midfielder is currently making a name for himself in the Championship with high flying Wolverhampton Wanderers and has caught the attention of Reds boss with his impressive displays and his ability to play in the centre of defence too.
Klopp desperately needs some big defensive reinforcements and if he’s unsuccessful with Virgil Van Dijk, players like Saiss and Hegazi can come at a cut price.
Keylor Navas

With his stock decreasing following a poor start to the season for Real Madrid, this could be a good time to get a top-class keeper for a smaller price tag.
Klopp needs a commanding and decent goalkeeper, much of this season has been about switching the Number One spot between Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius, which shows how little faith the Anfield boss has in the pair.
