There have been mixed emotions among Liverpool supporters in the Transfer Tavern in recent days after they saw their side draw 1-1 at home to Premier League champions Chelsea on Saturday, a result which took their unbeaten run to six games, but at the same time saw them drop out of the division’s top four.

Jurgen Klopp’s men went into their clash with the Blues off the back of throwing away a three-goal lead to only draw 3-3 with Sevilla in the Champions League in midweek, yet they looked on course to get back to winning ways at Anfield as former Chelsea star Mohamed Salah fired them into the lead midway through the second half. However, the champions responded and clinched a point from the encounter when Willian’s floated effort sailed over the head of Reds goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, in turn instigating Liverpool’s fall to sixth place in the table after Arsenal overcame Burnley on Sunday.

Thus, there have been differing emotions in the Tavern among our resident Liverpudlians, some of whom were satisfied with their team’s display against Chelsea, while others felt that it was a game they could and perhaps should have won.

Elsewhere though, there has been other news for those Reds supporters to get their teeth into recently, not least reports suggesting that midfielder Marko Grujic could be on his way out of Anfield in January.

The 21-year-old has struggled to impose himself upon the first team at the Merseyside giants and as such has been restricted to just five senior appearances so far this season, only one of which has been a start.

And the player’s agent has suggested that the Serbia international could seek a loan move away from Liverpool in January, and were the midfielder to indeed leave the club, here are TWO other stars who could follow him out of Anfield…

Emre Can

The future of Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has been speculated upon for a while now, with no extension to his current deal, which is due to expire in the summer, having been agreed.

The 23-year-old has slowly but surely become an increasingly important member of Klopp’s team at Anfield, with 40 appearances in all competitions last term and 17 already this time round underlining his significance.

Yet the Reds could face somewhat of a quandary in January if the Germany international hasn’t penned a new deal by then, as they may look to cash in on him in the New Year, or run the risk of losing him on a free in the summer.

Thus, the midfielder could well be on his way out of Liverpool in the coming transfer window.

Daniel Sturridge

Daniel Sturridge was excluded from Gareth Southgate’s most recent England squad, which is the clearest indication yet that things need to change for the striker if he is to make it to the World Cup in the summer.

The 28-year-old has only managed five Premier League starts for the Reds so far this term, with manager Klopp clearly preferring the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, and Philippe Coutinho, although the Englishman did lead the line against Chelsea last time out.

Nonetheless, with just three goals so far this season, Sturridge knows that things have to change, either at Liverpool or by moving to another club, if he is to make the final 23-man squad in the summer, and a move away from Anfield could well be his best option.
