In 2014 Chelsea opted to sell highly-rated young striker Romelu Lukaku to Everton for a fee in the region of £28 million, much to the delight of the Toffees faithful who can regularly be found enjoying a drink in the Transfer Tavern.
The Belgian striker netted 25 goals last season and is now being linked with an astonishing £65 million move back to Stamford Bridge, with new boss Antonio Conte thought to be keen on the striker.
Still only 23-years-old the powerful striker would slot into the Chelsea first team with relative ease, but it remains to be seen whether the transfer would be a good one for the Blues, given his spell at Stamford Bridge previously.
One Chelsea fan is sat in the Tavern waiting for the Tuesday night pool knockout to start and he would love to see the club’s former striker strutting his stuff in West London once more, stating that he would be the ideal replacement for Diego Costa should he leave this summer.

Pro – Proven Premier League talisman
One thing that the scintillating Belgian would provide Chelsea is the firepower to put them back into contention for a top four finish, something which they missed out on last season.
Lukaku would hit the ground running having played in the UK for nearly five years now and there wouldn’t be a settling in period for the striker.
He netted 18 goals in the Premier League last season and 25 altogether and in a pretty average looking Everton side that is pretty decent.
The 23-year-old would get chances galore from Chelsea’s midfield and her could reach 30 goals easy at Stamford Bridge.
Pro – Likable character
Back in 2014 when Jose Mourinho opted to cash in on Lukaku the Chelsea fans were up in arms, stating that the striker still had so much left to offer the Blues.
The Chelsea faithful could see that they had a really talented boy on their hands and felt that another loan spell away from the Bridge would have served both parties better.
If Conte can secure a deal which sees Lukaku return to West London then it would certainly appease the Stamford Bridge faithful, who have never really doubted the striker’s ability to become a top class Chelsea player.
Con – Hefty price tag
If Chelsea pay the staggering £65 million that has been touted around for Lukaku, it will represent an astonishing £37 million loss for Chelsea.
In the current era of modern day spending it might not sound like much but can Chelsea afford to take such a big risk on a massive wad of cash?
Lukaku would undoubtedly score goals should he stay fit but there is no guarantee of that and such a fee would place the Belgian under massive pressure to succeed.
A price tag of such a hefty nature would raise the expectation level somewhat and at just 23, Lukaku is more of an investment for the future rather than a here and now kind of impact.
Con – Better players out there
If Chelsea are going to spend the £65 million on a striker then with all due respect to Lukaku there are better options currently playing elsewhere in Europe.
The likes of Antoine Griezmann, Gonzalo Higuain and Edinson Cavani will all cost considerably less than the Everton man and all have netted more goals in their careers than Lukaku.
Everton have probably set the crazy fee to indicate that they simply do not wish to sell but in any instance spending such a huge sum on Lukaku would represent a massive risk.
Although Chelsea fans rated Lukaku during his time with the club, I am not sure they will be entirely convinced that he is worth £65 million should the Blues cough up the cash.
