The West Ham fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are getting excited for the start of the Premier League and discussing why they could shock Manchester United on the opening day.
Both teams have spent big this summer transfer window on their weak areas from last season.
West Ham have brought in vital Premier League experience in the likes of Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta, Javier Hernandez & Marko Arnautovic to hopefully over turn their trait of letting leads slip last year.
Looking to get life back at the London Stadium off to a much better start than last term, the Hammers in our bar are really rather happy about their summer business.
So, as you can imagine our east London locals are rather excited about the kick-off on Sunday afternoon.
With that in mind, here are TWO reason our landlord thinks the new look Hammers can provide an opening day upset to the title challenging Red Devils.
Javier Hernandez

Sometimes football is written in the stars and it seems about right that Chicharito’s first match back in the English league would be against his former club.
He’ll definitely have a point to prove after being offloaded a couple of years ago.
Hernandez has an eye for goal and the little fox in the box will be desperate to pounce upon any slight opportunity that he can sniff out.
Man Utd’s poor finishing

If the Hammers can take the lead unlike last season they’ll be looking to hold on to it.
With Manchester United’s low rate of just 9.1% conversion rate in front of goal last season, it could be a case of holding out and parking the bus to set the tone for the rest of the season.
Ex-Manchester City keeper Joe Hart in net will also be doing everything he can to keep that rate as low as possible.
