Tottenham supporters have been somewhat frustrated in the Transfer Tavern this week after seeing their side held by League One’s bottom team Rochdale in the fifth round of the FA Cup last time out following a 2-2 draw at Spotland.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men went into their clash with the third tier strugglers off the back of coming from behind to draw 2-2 with European giants Juventus in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie, thus leaving them as favourites for progression when they meet in the return leg at Wembley in a fortnight’s time. Yet Spurs have a big battle on their hands in trying to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup as a Steve Davis strike in the last minute deservedly secured a draw for Rochdale last weekend, thus earning them a replay at the national stadium next week.

Thus, there have been many frustrated Tottenham fans in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are hoping their team can get back to winning ways when they travel to Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday.

In the meantime though, there has been much for our resident Spurs supporters to get their teeth into, not least recent reports suggesting that they are ready to cash in on defender Toby Alderweireld this summer.

The 28-year-old sees his current deal expire in the summer of 2019, and although there is an option of a one-year trigger in the contract, doing so would bring a £25 million release clause into play.

And with contract negotiations reportedly far from a conclusion given the centre-back’s wage demands, the North London outfit are reportedly set to sanction his departure in the summer transfer window.

Vincent Janssen

Striker Vincent Janssen was shipped out on loan to Turkish giants Fenerbahce back in August in a bid for more regular first team football, but things haven’t gone particularly well for the 23-year-old.

He has just two goals to show for his efforts in the Super Lig, and while injury has somewhat restricted his progress, it has had a significant impact as Fenerbahce are reportedly not willing to pursue a permanent move in the summer.

And with the Netherlands international unlikely to get regular football at Spurs, the North London club may seek to cash in on the forward this summer.

Harry Kane

Tottenham fans may not like it, but if their side were to fail to qualify for the Champions League and fail to win a trophy this term, striker Harry Kane could well be off in the summer.

The England international has exceeded 30 goals in a season once again this term to underline his status as one of the best strikers in Europe, a striker Real Madrid are reportedly interested in as they potentially eye up a huge summer overhaul given their La Liga struggles this season.

As such, the 24-year-old could well be on the move come the end of the campaign, especially if he continues to bang in the goals for Pochettino’s side.
