Tottenham fans drinking at the Transfer Tavern tonight might be wondering why no new players have been brought in, but that may be about to change.

Daniel Levy must know, just like everyone else knows, this is a crucial time for Tottenham. Should they pick up the right player here and there, they could be well on track for Premier League glory next season or they could fall back down the table most likely losing players like Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen in the process.

Surprisingly, Spurs haven’t been linked with a host of players at this stage in the transfer window. Only a handful of players are rumoured to be potentially making their way to Pochettino’s side and given how they finished last season and the squad they have, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

However, some deals will need to be done to see improvement in the squad and on that note, here are two Spurs rumours that Daniel Levy must make happen very soon…

Adrien Silva to join

Part of Tottenham’s problem is a lack of squad depth. If Harry Kane gets injured, Vincent Janssen is the man to take his place, that’s not good enough. What’s also not good enough is using an out of form Moussa Sissoko to replace the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen when they’re either fatigued or injured.

Whilst Adrien Silva, who has been linked with a move to Spurs, could break his way into the first team, it’s highly unlikely but he could be used to great effect in cup competitions and as a back up to the first team. The lack of depth is hurting Tottenham and players like Silva could change all of that.

Joshua King to join

This one all comes down to whether Spurs actually want to sign the Bournemouth forward, as has been suggested. If they have legitimate plans to try and bring the Norwegian to White Hart Lane, then they’ll need to act fast as Everton have begun to display interest in his services.

Like the Moussa Sissoko transfer saga last season, Everton agreed to pay £30 million for the Frenchman which backed Spurs into a corner and forced them to overpay to get their man. Should the same happen again this window with King, Spurs might lose their chance to buy him because as they have already shown this window, Everton aren’t afraid to spend some money.
