Currently sat in the last Champions League spot, 5 points of the leaders this is currently an underachievement for the London based side.

Having lost 1-0 in their last outing against league leaders Manchester City, Conte has been left to ponder over the international break about the different tactics and side that he is going to implement against strugglers Crystal Palace.

Following injuries to Alvaro Morata and the forever reliable Ngolo Kante, Conte has been left scuppered to decide on the suitable replacements for these two vital men.

So with the break coming to a close, it poses a greater importance for players to impress.

With a great amount of improvement and a goal scoring + defensive void to fill, Conte is set to go back to the drawing board in the hope of naming a ruthless side that can take apart their London rivals.

After many time and thoughts, here’s the Chelsea XI we believe can do the job for Conte…

GK: Thibaut Courtois

The Belgian shot-stopper proves himself as one of the first names on the team sheet, as his reliable performances result in him being one of the best keepers in the Premier League.

Without a doubt the most established first team member in the starting line up.

CB: Antonio Rudiger

The young German defender has settled down well at the Bridge and, after impressing during the international break, it looks nailed on for him to secure a starting spot.

The young lad provides brute strength and pace which provides that key balance in defence to keep the oppositions attackers at bay.

CB: Gary Cahill

After a solid clean sheet for England this weekend just passed, Cahill can head back into the Chelsea squad in fine voice as the Three Lions qualified for the World Cup. The experienced Blues man has the key leadership qualities needed to run and organize the back line.

For a player who’s been a mixed bag for Chelsea this season, he looks to nail down his place.

CB: Andreas Christensen

The Denmark international looks to break his way into the side permanently after a flurry of impressive performances for the club against the bigger teams both starting and off the bench has raised some excitement.

The strong and versatile 21-year-old provides that youthful exuberance that this Chelsea side has lacked as of late.

The young man fits directly alongside the experienced Cahill as he edges out David Luiz with his impressive form.

RWB: Cesar Azpilicueta

The Spanish star has always been one of the most consistent and hard-working players for both club and country, for someone who is arguably one of the best defenders in the Premier League there really isn’t any form of competition for his starting spot.

LWB: Marcus Alonso

The Spanish star has really found his feet in the Premier League and, after already netting twice so far this season, really looks to be in fine form.

Providing an attacking outlet going down the left, he is also able to provide a great stability going backwards which places him into the starting XI.

CM: Cesc Fabregas

The Spanish international has been one of the most consistent servants to the game and his passing ability, as well as his vision, put him up there as one of the best ball-players in the world.

His creative spark and key experience means that he is finding himself always nailing down a starting spot for himself.

CM: Tiemoue Bakayoko

The French international, who earned his first cap for his country this year, is a hot defensive prospect who many feel has similarities to Kante. Though with added drive.

The hard-working defensive man can provide the pace and stability in order to pick up the ball and evade the opposition from getting into attacking positions.

CAM: Pedro

The tricky Spanish winger seems to come up with a goal at the most unexpected of times. With the current void left by the injury to Alvaro Morata, it’s up to this man to transform himself into a more floating role in between the two forward players to allow him to create.

The former Barcelona man should have no problem in adjusting.

CF: Eden Hazard

The Belgian wizard is arguably one of if not the best attacking player in the Premier League, his ability to turn a game instantly with his trickery, unbelievable dribbling and impeccable finishing allows for him to be one of the greats.

It was inevitable as this man will get his starting place acting as a second forward.

ST: Michy Batshuayi

The Belgian forward had an extra intent to impress during the international break, but after news of the Morata injury, this man is set to get his well-earned start for the team as he looks to increase his goal tally that he’s already managed to open this season.

The talented marksman provides the pace and attacking instinct needed to produce the goals in the void left by the prolific Spanish international.
