Crystal Palace fans here in the Transfer Tavern are more than ready to get going this season now with them looking forward to a hopefully brighter season.

Of course, they only scraped survival last season but their squad is good enough to finish higher and with a bit of luc European football could be a possibility.

If Palace did achieve such an ambitious aim then that would be a towering achievement for the club, players and supporters.

However, even without bringing in any new recruits this summer transfer window yet, Selhurst Park is home to fairly expansive squad – not all of the members of the first-team will be lucky enough to be regular figures throughout the 2017/18 campaign.

This is why the current owner needs to shift a number of faces to keep the finances steady as they hope to continue bringing in the ‘big-name’ additions over the coming years.

Chung-Yong Lee

Chung-Yong Lee arrived in south-east London in the winter transfer window of 2015 which saw him switch Bolton Wanderers, where he spent six years of his career, to the capital.

The South-Korean international must have thought he could become a firm fan favourite in the Football Transfer Tavern, however, the winger’s opportunities were restricted last term as he saw just 464 minutes of Premier League football.

The rising talent of Sullay Kaikai, alongside the superpowers of Andros Townsend and Wilfried Zaha means Chung-Yong Lee’s chances next year may be restricted and a potential move back to the Championship could become likely.

Jordon Mutch

Jordon Mutch has been frozen out of the Crystal Palace starting eleven following their high-calibre additions and that could near the midfielder to an expected departure in the short-term future.

Having seen just four Premier League matches, Mutch was shipped out on loan to Championship outfit Reading where he played an integral part of their road to Wembley before losing out to Huddersfield.

With the money now in Palace’s pocket, the quality will continue to grow and the 25-year-old’s game time will decrease by the week, so a imminent exit is far too likely but it needs to be done as soon as possible with clubs returning to pre-season.

Bakary Sako

Formerly of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bakary Sako was never expected to be the real deal at Selhurst Park as he was always going to remain back-up to Andros Townsend.

The wide-man racked up a measly 135 minutes of top-flight football in the 2016/17 season and the incoming manager will potentially want to trim numbers to enhance his budget for the next two months.

Our Eagles punters don’t see a future at Crystal Palace for Sako and his time at the club won’t be extended beyond this summer, with a loan stint away also doubtful as the attacker searches for first-team football.
