3 Crystal Palace transfer priorities that Allardyce simply must focus on this summer (not Benteke)

The Eagles fans are starting to enjoy life under Sam Allardyce and are hopeful the recent improvement in form can continue in to next season.

Crystal Palace have had a difficult season with management changes, disappointing results and a huge dollop of uncertainty compounded by an unexpected relegation battle.

Recently, the Eagles’ form has improved and the January signings of Mamadou Sakho, Patrick van Anholt and Luka Milivojević have helped plug a leaky defence and add steel in midfield.

Next season is still technically in the balance, though Crystal Palace sit above the relegation zone these days, after a decent run of form of late. The Eagles fans are confident of escaping the drop and hopeful that the summer will bring new signings and a renewed sense of optimism around the club.

The landlord believes that Crystal Palace will avoid the drop under ‘Big Sam’ and the club must now start to plan for what is sure to be a busy summer in the transfer market.

So, what transfer priorities should Allardyce focus on in the summer?  Let’s take a look.

SIGN MAMADOU SAKHO

The Eagles fans at the Tavern believe acquiring Sakho on loan from Liverpool was the best bit of business completed in the January window.

The big Frenchman has put in many eye-catching performances already and ‘Big Sam’ must try to sign him in the summer to add real quality to the Eagles backline.

KEEP HOLD OF ZAHA

In a difficult season, Wilfried Zaha has maintained his performance levels and continued to shine at the South London club.

Zaha has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs, but if Crystal Palace can hold on to their star player that would be seen as a key bit of business in the summer.

SIGN A LETHAL STRIKER

Crystal Palace need to find a goal scorer that is capable of netting 20+ goals in a campaign to ensure they steer clear of any relegation trouble next year.

The Eagles have recently been linked with Vincent Aboubakar who is currently on loan at Besiktas from Porto. A proven goal scorer with bags of pace, the Cameroon international could well fit the bill at Selhurst Park next season.
