Our Celtic fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been celebrating their league title for some time – even if they haven’t actually won it yet.
The Bhoys have cruised to win after win this season with them now streets ahead of closest rivals Aberdeen in the league and looking as strong as they have for some time.
Indeed, Brendan Rodgers has to be praised for the work he has done this season in surpassing already very high expectations and the target now has to be going the season unbeaten.
You’d be hard-pressed to find a reason why they won’t be able to as well, given the way they are playing, but our landlord reckons there’s three games that have the potential to spoil the party slightly.
So with that in mind, here are the three games that could derail Celtic’s unbeaten train of results…
Celtic v Rangers 12/03/17
Celtic have shown their fierce rivals just how far they need to come before they are to start challenging over a league campaign.
In one game, though, there’s still that chance of a slip-up and the Gers will be determined to be the side that ruins this run. The Ibrox club are in disarray at the moment but they shouldn’t need any extra motivating to go and try and beat Celtic so the Bhoys need to be on their mettle.
Dundee v Celtic 19/03/17
Dundee have the potential to cause an upset here – as they have already shown this season.
They’ve beaten Rangers and Hearts at Dens Park this season whilst they only lost narrowly to Celtic in this fixture back in October 1-0. They’re not quite safe from relegation either, as is the closeness of the bottom half of the Scottish Premiership and so Celtic had better be ready for a fight.
Hearts v Celtic 02/04/17
Hearts will still feel they can get into the European spots and when they’re playing well they’re a match for anyone in the division.
Celtic beat them 2-1 back in August at Tynecastle but when the Edinburgh club get things going on all cylinders they’ve got the ability to score a number of goals as big wins over Inverness, Kilmarnock and Rangers will attest too. Celtic will need to keep things tight at the back for this one.
