Everton’s decision not to bring in another striker on deadline day could prove costly over the coming months.
The Toffees saw Iliman Ndiaye join Manchester City and Beto move to Fiorentina, while their attempt to sign Monaco forward Folarin Balogun also fell through.
That leaves Thierno Barry as the club’s only recognised out-and-out striker, with Jamie Vardy previously mentioned as a possible free-agent solution.
However, it appears Everton have now been offered another experienced option.
Everton Offered Anthony Martial
Everton have reportedly been offered the chance to sign former Manchester United striker Anthony Martial, according to talkSPORT.
The Toffees were left short up front after losing Iliman Ndiaye to Manchester City and Beto to Fiorentina on deadline day, while their move for Monaco forward Folarin Balogun also collapsed.
With Thierno Barry currently the only recognised striker in the squad, Everton had been linked with a move for free agent Jamie Vardy. However, Martial has now emerged as another option.
The 30-year-old is available after leaving Mexican side Monterrey and would reportedly consider a return to the Premier League.
Martial spent nine years at United, scoring 63 goals and registering 33 assists in 209 appearances, but his career has stalled since leaving Old Trafford in 2024.
He managed nine goals for AEK Athens before scoring just once in 20 games for Monterrey, with injuries continuing to disrupt his progress.
Everton must now decide whether Martial can provide the attacking depth they desperately need as they prepare to face United this weekend.
