3 hidden gems currently at Liverpool – Heard of them?

The Liverpool faithful here in the Football Transfer Tavern are eager to see how well their side can do this season.

Jurgen Klopp has bought well this summer, with players like Loris Karius and Joel Matip likely to come and completely change the way that Liverpool play next season.

Like at any big club however, the majority of the focus is placed on the first team players at Liverpool. The stars that play each and every week in front of the Anfield faithful.

Contrastingly, one particularly vocal member of the Liverpool crowd here at the Football Transfer Tavern is particularly fond of youth football; and he has recently been proclaiming that there are a number of young Liverpool stars that have the potential to be huge stars in the first team.

Liverpool have been more efficient than most in the Premier League with regards to bringing through youth talent, but our landlord still finds it hard to believe that anyone in the Liverpool academy is good enough to become a world-renowned star.

Toni Gomes

Toni Gomes is a striker that has been making waves in recent months, with the young striker proving absolutely prolific through the developmental system at Liverpool.

He signed his first two-year professional deal with the club this summer,  so Jurgen Klopp is clearly a fan of the youngster.

He has made appearances for both the u18 and u21 sides and has been successful in both disciplines. A natural goalscorer, Gomes also possess great of technical ability that makes him a nuisance for opposition defences.

He left his native Guinea-Bissau when he was 15, and in that time he has proven that he has everything to make it as a top star in the Premier League.

Keep an eye on Gomes.

Cameron Brannagan

Cameron Brannagan will likely be a familiar name to most Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern; but fans of other clubs will no doubt be hearing about him soon.

Brannagan is an attacking midfielder, a natural number 10, and is strong and the ball and is a particularly good passer of the ball.

He is versatile, meaning he can play across the midfield – a trait that Jurgen Klopp has valued highly amongst his first team players over the last year or so.

He is definitely in the ilk of a Cesc Fabregas or a Joe Allen, but the Liverpool faithful think he can go ever further.

A Liverpool player since the age of 5 – he could be the next player to make it through the system.

Brannagan made 9 first team appearances last season; expect more to come.

Ben Woodburn came to the attention of the Liverpool faithful here in the Tavern during the summer when he sparkled during Liverpool’s pre-season fixtures.

He is just 16 years old, but some of the Anfield faithful are tipping him for a first team spot already!

He is a midfielder with bags of potential; technically brilliant, quick, an eye for a pass – he has it all.

He has also been known to pop up with a world-class goal or two in recent years!

You may not know his name now; but you will soon. He has the potential to go all the way.
