So here’s 3 reasons why West Ham’s Carlton Cole’s proposed move to virtually anywhere is a non starter for me.
Value for Money. Cole’s demand for a wage packet of £45,000 a-week, if agreed, could prove to jeopardize the clubs future financially if things were to go sour for the prospective sides this season. Also earning a good deal amount more than many more of the rest of the playing staff could unsettle the changing room.
Everyone needs a goal scorer Cole barely reaches double figures. Cole only scores an average of less than 1 goal in 3 games. This isn’t exactly terrible or even poor, but I would not say it’s the type of ratio that would dramatically improve any of his ‘supposed’ suitors.
Better and cheaper elsewhere. The Champoinship often provides rich pickings for the so called smaller, or less fortunate clubs in previous seasons. Dean Ashton (Pre Knee op) was a gem of a player! If anyone wanted a player with EPL experience then David Ngog of Liverpool is surely worth sticking with /a look at. Even more so if you take into account his 3m price tag, he scored 8 goals last year, starting in only 19 games.
