3 players Mourinho should ask Woodward to get rid of in January

Man United fans here in the Tavern have been urging the staff to get rid of fringe players in order to make room for possible signings.

The Red Devils have enjoyed a pretty impressive start to the season as they occupy 2nd position in the League and they look to build on their unbeaten start. Having set the team up for a bore draw away at Anfield it looks as if Mourinho knows exactly what he wants from this United side and will stop at next to nothing in order to get it.

Having had 25 players feature in all competitions so far this season, in what is a pretty big squad, Mourinho will surely look to reduce this number down with the potential departures of a few of the playing staff, if he is wanting to bring in any world-class players.

Making an incredible start to the season, players who have struggled to make many appearances may start to think they will not have a permanent inclusion in the long-term plans of the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’.

As United look to improve on their fine form both domestically and in Europe they could be looking to the possible addition of some quality signings that can be the added formula to drive them on to another successful season for the club.

So, here’s a look at 3 possible departures that Ed Woodward should enforce…

Marouane Fellaini

After having started only 1/3 of games for the side so far this season, with numerous appearances off the bench, it becomes evident that this man may not be in Mourinho’s permanent plans.

The midfielder has been at the forefront of an awful lot of criticism in recent times as many fans are calling for his head due to the inconsistency and unreliable nature he poses for the side. For a man whose elbow seem to have a mind of their own, its been a surprise that United have even had this man feature as much as he has so far.

But for a player who has been very much questioned and living on the fringes, it looks as if fans are edging towards seeing his services coming to an end at the club.

Marcus Rojo

The Argentine has been out for the past 6 months with a cruciate ligament injury as he looks to return to football at some point in December. Having spent the duration of the season out so far, it looks as if he will find it tough to fit into this United side.

With main competitor Ashley Young and Matteo Darmian being favoured at left back and there being a number of centre-backs nailing down some impressive defensive displays, life could be difficult.

Having to spend time gaining back match fitness and getting up to speed with the game, it adds an extra emphasis as to whether it’s worth waiting the time for his return with the January transfer window on the horizon.

Matteo Darmian

The Italian full-back was a main feature of the season that United produced last season, but of late, has become a squad rotation player as he struggles to nail down a permanent place. His increased game time over the past year has been mainly down to the injury sustained by Luke Shaw which put him out for an extended period.

still, after starting against Liverpool in the 0-0 draw this past week he came under much criticism from Gary Neville, as he commentated live on Sky. Stating that the “full-back was becoming extremely liable to diving in and incorrectly standing up” tricky winger Mo Salah he continued to skin the Italian.

So with the return of Luke Shaw to full fitness, it looks as if it could be the end of the road in terms of a starting place for the side.

So United fans, would you like to see these 3 men go?
