Last year’s Premier League champions Leicester have had yet another unpredictable campaign so far.
The Leicester supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern are enjoying their maiden Champions League campaign, bur are certainly not enjoying life in the Premier League.
They currently sit 13th in the Premier League, however, they top their Champions League group without dropping a single point so far.
Palace on the other hand are a team which, under Pardew’s guidance, are starting to become a difficult team to play against.
So during this weekend’s match against Leicester and Crystal Palace, here are THREE players you definitely need to watch out for…..
Islam Slimani
The Algerian striker has only recently joined Leicester City this season from Sporting, and already he is showing signs of being a key player for the Premier League champions.
Despite Musa signing for Leicester, it seems like Slimani has become Vardy’s striking partner and while the pair haven’t clicked as of late, they still are a deadly duo together.
If Palace want to walk away with a clean sheet then Slimani will have to be the man they must keep a very close eye on.
Christian Benteke
When Benteke was signed by Palace this season there was a mixed response by the fans in the Transfer Tavern.
Some fans were satisfied that they have bought a high quality striker, while others had to take a second glance of their phones when they realised he cost Palace £30 million.
However, despite which side you where on you have to admit that the Belgium has had a solid start to his Palace career.
Benteke currently has 3 goals in 5 games for Pardew’s side and he had definitely given Crystal Palace some added points already.
The issue is that can Benteke perform for a whole season? If he can then he will be one to watch for every game, not just this one.
Riyad Mahrez
Mahrez so far has not performed to the same standard he had done last year.
However after a volley against Copenhagen, he may be able to rekindle his form against Crystal Palace.
The Algerian was unbelievable in the Foxes’ Champions League game and with momentum being in Leicester’s hand, Mahrez may become the impact player he was last season.
Leicester will be relying on Mahrez, Vardy and Slimani to all perform this weekend.
