Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern are absolutely delighted. Not only are they back where they belong in the top division in Scotland, they’ve made a decent start to the season too.
Player- wise, it’s safe to say that Gers are still some way behind bitter rivals Celtic but you can’t slate them in the slightest- they’ve made a fantastic recovery after years of financial turmoil and climbing through the lower leagues of Scottish football.
But now they’re back and they’re out to prove people that they have the muscle to compete in the top-flight.
Manager Mark Warburton has invested in the squad this summer and with players like bad-boy Barton now in the squad, they’re looking good to push Celtic all the way.
And with the first Old Firm having been and gone, Gers are going to need their biggest players to perform.

James Tavernier
If I proposed to you that a player scored fifteen goals in a season, you’d more than likely tell me that they are a forward in some capacity.
But Gers right-back James Tavernier is no forward and he still dispatched an incredible fifteen times last season and has started this season strongly too.
He’s a solid defensive option who loves getting forward and supporting the side. Good to see him doing well with the Scottish giants after struggling to settle in England.
Kenny Miller
Well-travelled Kenny Miller is now in his third spell with Rangers and nothing much seems to have changed since his first spell back in 2000.
He’s non-stop, works hard and most importantly, knows where the net is. He’s dispatched twice already this season but he gives so much more than just goals.
He encapsulates this Rangers journey through the lower divisions and he will be a massive in the Old Firm this weekend.
He’s done it all before and expect him to relish the platform the crunch ties offer.
Niko Kranjcar
Former Spurs man Niko Kranjcar is now a big part of a Rangers team that is expected to do well this season. After signing a two-year deal this summer, he’s brought craft and guile to a Gers midfield that had been lacking a truly creative output.
He’s got bags of experiences from playing all over the world and he can continue to be a key figure after a good start this season.
