Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern have hit a little bit of early season turbulence despite remaining unbeaten in all competitions.

The two performances against Liverpool and Benfica have brought some grey cloud to United’s sunshine start to the 17/18 season, as the injuries pile up for Mourinho’s men. Our glass collector says the stand-in players are giving it their best efforts to secure down more game time in the future.

One of these players that as took full advantage of his teammates time in the physio room is last season’s Player of the Year, Ander Herrera, the dynamic Spaniard is a firm fan favourite amongst our regulars.

Herrera shows the passion and the fight all our punters want to see in a player when playing for your football team, he never lets the side down and always gives 100% every time he crosses the white line. Many believed when Wayne Rooney left for Everton, the obvious next captain of Manchester United would be Ander Herrera.

He always shows the fight and passion in every match he plays and You can see he clearly bleeds United. With the performances he put in last season, he looked to be a United regular and captain for years to come.

If Mourinho needed someone in the middle of the park to do any type of job he requested, Herrera would do it to a tee. He plays for the badge, he adores the fans and they adore him.

Indeed, he looks like he’s been a United player for many many years.

His performance in the Europa League final summed up what he does for the team – dictating and letting his teammates around him do what they do best while he dogs it out in the middle of the park.

He deserves it with the amount of effort he’s put in over the years, he seems to have created a special Spanish bond with his national teammates and his ability to always play with a smile warms him to the crowd.
