3 reasons Jose Mourinho should be fearing for his job at Man United in 2018

Red Devils here in the Tavern are pretty pleased with how their seasons been going so far, with just the set-back of Manchester City causing for gloom.

Manchester United have made improvements this campaign under Jose Mourinho, but after finishing in 5th position last time-out he can count himself lucky to even still be in the job.

For a manager that’s won the World’s Best Club Coach 4 times in his illustrious managerial career, there’s no doubt that he has what it takes to make your team special, after all, he is the ‘Special One’.

However, with United far from their best in recent times under his management, there’s all the reason to be cautious of what the future may bring for this Manchester side.

Yet, fans here in the Tavern are enjoying the company of one of the most decorated managers in the Premier League, although after last season they’re hoping that the future with Mourinho only shows more improvements from here on in.

Nevertheless, with Manchester United struggling to reach the heights of their historical trophy-winning days under Sir Alex Ferguson, here’s THREE reasons as to why Jose Mourinho should fear for his job in 2018.

Manchester disappointment

As much as United fans will hate to admit it, the tide in Manchester has turned in recent times with the light blue side of City now looking to insert domination.

Indeed, this season has become even worse for Mourinho and his side with Manchester City now looking to have already won the title by the new-year, as Mourinho continues to see his side slide.

After already losing to them at Old Trafford this season, this is something that won’t be tolerated by both United fans, and executives for much longer.

Negativity

Jose Mourinho never had an ounce of negativity in him during his days at Stamford Bridge, but now in charge of United, he’s developed a newly-found tactic that many supporters have taken a disliking to.

Most notably in their match-ups against Liverpool and Chelsea in away fixtures, Mourinho has opted for a negative tactic that sees his side line-up behind the ball to play for only a draw. Causing fans to question the gaffers decision-making with no side warranting any kind of success when playing for less than their worth.

Therefore, if the Red Devils continue to line-up in the same negative manner against the so called ‘top 5’ teams, then he may have to kiss The Theatre of Dreams goodbye.

Trophyless

After winning the Europa League and the League cup last campaign he would of been hoping for more of the same this time round. Yet, this isn’t how it turned out with his side already out of the title-race, and no longer a part of the League Cup after suffering a shock exit at the hands of Championship side Bristol City.

Now, with the Champions League looking like a difficult task to complete with all the high-calibre teams waiting in the knockout-stages, and with the FA Cup now being their only other hope. It’s beginning to look as if Mourinho may cause United to suffer only their second trophyless season in the past 12 years.
