3 reasons Jurgen Klopp should be fearing for his job at Liverpool in 2018

Reds here in the Tavern are looking  for their side to put inconsistency behind them, as they go in search of a Champions League spot.

Liverpool have had a fairly decent season by their standards, due to manager Jurgen Klopp making some of the best transfer window signings that the club has ever seen, after signing Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane over the past couple of years.

Although Jurgen Klopp has brought about passion and fight to proceedings on Merseyside, there’s no denying some key problems within the side.

However, with a Champions League spot still requiring lots of work with surrounding teams all performing at the highest-level, they’ll need to be at their best if they are to repeat the feat.

After the famous Champions League night in Istanbul back in 2005, the club are just crying out for someone to reproduce that kind of silverware magic for the club once again.

Indeed, Liverpool supporters here in the Tavern are getting restless with their sides lack of progression in the Premier League, having made no ground since the dreaded Gerrard ‘slip’ threw away a possible first title under Brendan Rodgers.

Therefore, with the expectations of Liverpool fans causing for them to become restless at times, here’s a look at THREE reasons as to why Jurgen Klopp should fear his future at Anfield in 2018.

Transfer window woes

The success of a club nowadays relies heavily upon how they perform in the transfer window, something that Jurgen Klopp has failed to become consistent at doing.

After seeing how the defensive mistakes last campaign hampered the Reds progress in all competitions, you’d have thought they’d have made it their number one priority to bring a quality centre-back in during the summer.

However, after failing to bring in any central-defensive quality he’s been on the receiving end of a whole load of criticism, with his lack of spending in defensive areas in the summer resulting in cracks beginning to appear.

So, the January transfer window is now of added importance with some important business deals to be done, if he is to remain in charge for much of 2018.

Rotation system

Of course, if you have a busy schedule or cup games on the horizon then there’s all the more reason to rotate your squad around.

However, Jurgen Klopp heavily rotated his starting line-up for Premier League games during the festive-period, that caused for angry fans and mixed results in games that they really should be winning.

This could quite easily cost him his job at some point in the near future with success very much dependent on playing your best side week in week out. This is something that’s caused Reds fans to think ‘what might have been’, had they been allowed to carry momentum as a settled side.

Trophyless

Indeed, the whole reason any secure ‘top 6’ club will hire a manager is to bring them silverware, cause after all that’s what fans and clubs determine as success.

However, now into his third season at Anfield he’s yet to record any honours for the club, something that surely can’t be tolerated by a club with such a historic past.

As England’s second most successful club, if Klopp doesn’t bring the Reds any silverware this season then he can kiss the thought of a fourth-year in charge goodbye.
