The Spurs forward has been linked with many a move away in recent seasons but with the side on the trajectory upwards there’s never been a need to sell him, much to the delight of our local Lillywhites.

Still, some of our punters actually believe that this season, especially after the World Cup, it could be time to cash in. With himself in the summer shop window and if he continues the form that has seen him receive so many plaudits, Daniel Levy may be swayed.

The likes of Dimitar Berbatov, Gareth Bale and Luka Modric prove that Tottenham aren’t afraid to sell their big stars.

With that in mind, our landlord offers the argument that if Kane was to go what happens to this current, young and talented Spurs squad?

Cash in on the World Cup Year

If the prices around in the last summer transfer window are anything to go by, next year’s post-World Cup prices are set to rocket to a new planet. If Kane can produce the kind of performances he has done in the league, his stock will surely rise tenfold.

With the figure of 170 million floating around already for Kane, we wouldn’t be surprised to see that rise to way past the 200 million mark.

Use the sale to rebuild the team

After they sold Bale to Real Madrid, many believe that Spurs blew the money on mediocre players and bought too many players. Tottenham would hopefully learn from that mistake this time round in the search to bring quality in.

The Spurs team is solid with Kane at the forefront of the formation. Still, to really move on from the current level they’re at and start to properly challenge for the title and to be spoken about in the same terms as Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea, Spurs need strength in depth.

The Kane money could really excel this team, if used correctly.

Sell before the inevitable

What Tottenham don’t want to see themselves with is a now infamous Arsenal situation with Kane. You can’t see Kane staying at Spurs long term if he has the ambition to win trophies unless Spurs really turn a corner.

While Kane is seemingly at the top of his game at the moment and his selling stake high, cash in on him and move on before he either runs his contract out to force a move or becomes unhappy at the lack of trophies he’s won.
