Leeds United supporters have been making a lot of noise in the Transfer Tavern in recent days after seeing their side end a three-match losing streak with a comprehensive 3-0 victory at Bristol City, propelling them up to fourth in the Championship table.

Thomas Christiansen’s men went into their clash at Ashton Gate on Saturday having lost their last three league games and four of their last five, a run which saw them fall off the pace of leaders Wolves. However, the Yorkshire giants bounced back by easing past Lee Johnson’s Robins, with a brace for Samuel Saiz and a Pierre Michel Lasogga strike securing a 3-0 win for the Whites, and in turn moving them up to fourth in the table and four points behind second place Cardiff City.

And, unsurprisingly, several of our resident Leeds fans were in fine voice over the weekend following their side’s impressive performance, and their attentions will now be turning to an intriguing Carabao Cup tie away at managerless Leicester City on Tuesday night.

The Foxes parted company with Craig Shakespeare last week but caretaker boss Michael Appleton led them to a vital 2-1 victory at Swansea City on Saturday, a result which moved them out of the Premier League’s bottom three.

And the King Power faithful will be hoping for back-to-back successes when Leeds visit the Midlands on Tuesday night, but having already beaten a top-flight side in Burnley during the competition, Christiansen’s men will themselves be confident of causing an upset.

And here are THREE reasons why they will do just that on Tuesday…

Much-needed away win at weekend

Leeds really needed that 3-0 victory at Bristol City on Saturday, having lost each of their previous three away games in the Championship.

The Whites were sat top of the division back in September but losses away at Millwall, Cardiff City, and Sheffield Wednesday somewhat stunted their momentum, and saw them perilously close to losing their place in the top six.

However, they produced a much-improved display to comfortably see off Lee Johnson’s Robins and quash any doubts about their away form, and thus give them the perfect confidence boost ahead of their trip to the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night.

Leicester likely to be much-changed

There are slightly more pressing matters going on at Leicester at the moment, what with manager Craig Shakespeare having lost his job last week.

Caretaker boss Michael Appleton led the side to a vital 2-1 victory at Swansea City at the weekend and the Premier League is likely to remain their priority, especially given they face another managerless side in Everton on Sunday.

Thus, there are likely to be several changes to the Foxes team, and that inconsistency within the side and likely lack of match sharpness is something Leeds must seek to exploit at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday.

Already secured Premier League scalp

Although things have been tricky for Leeds in recent weeks, it was only a month ago that they knocked high-flying Burnley out of the competition with a wonderful victory at Turf Moor.

The Clarets had lost just once in the Premier League prior to their meeting with the Whites but came unstuck against Christiansen’s men in Lancashire, and that victory will give them all the confidence they need to repeat the trick against Leicester on Tuesday.

The Foxes comparatively haven’t had things all their own way but did get a win last time out, yet Leeds go into Tuesday’s clash with the knowledge that they can and indeed have beaten a Premier League side.

That will count for a lot at the King Power Stadium, and may just spur the visitors onto victory.
