Dele Alli once again proved his worth for Spurs in their 2-0 victory over Chelsea last week and Spurs fans here in the Transfer Tavern were absolutely over the moon with his performance against the league leaders.
It was a result full of grit, determination and quality and once again, highlighted why Spurs are more than in with a shot at the Premier League title come the end of the season.
But the performance of one man stood out amongst the rest and of course, we’re talking about youngster Dele Alli, who time and time again seems to have the quality to dig his side out of a hole and into winning positions.
He was absolutely immense in the game against Antonio Conte’s league leaders but as with every good performance, speculation regarding his future continued to fly around after the win, much to the horror of the Spurs regulars in the pub.
A move to Real Madrid has been touted but here in the Tavern, we’re adamant Alli will be a part of this Spurs team for years to come.
Barcelona are another thought to be keen for the former MK Dons ace, who clearly has a huge future in the game.

In both of Spurs’ last two Premier League games, we’ve seen the former MK Dons man bag important goals to give his side crucial wins in the Premier League.
Two big goals in the game against Watford were followed up with another two against the Blues and it seems that time and time again, he’s got the knack of winning games on his own for his side.
It’s becoming increasingly important for Spurs to hang onto him for the long-term as he looks to be a bigger and bigger player in every game he plays for Pochettino’s side.
He’s scoring goals from all over the pitch
Long-range strikes, tap-ins, headers, volleys- it’s clear that Dele Alli can score from all over the park and that’s why he’s being linked with some of the best teams in the world right now.
He’s a young man that is becoming a more mature player every time we see him on the pitch and his two headed goals either side of the break against Chelsea show he’s capable of scoring anywhere on the pitch.
A player of that quality must be kept hold of and nutured further and it seems like the Spurs fans certainly agree too.
As he improves, his price tag does too
Spurs are in a pretty good position when it comes to Dele Alli in the fact that they’re under no financial obligation to move on their brightest talent.
At his tender age, Alli is only going to keep on improving and if the rate of his development over the past couple of years is anything to go by, it’s that the club could have the best midfielder in the world in another 24 months.
By that time, his price tag would have risen again and Spurs will then have a massive decision to make.
But financially, they’re under no stress to sell and for now, they should continue to develop one of their best young players whilst he continues to grow in value.
