The Arsenal fans drinking in the Tavern tonight can’t wait for their season to get underway so they can see their new man in action.
In Alexandre Lacazette, our landlord reckons Arsenal have their best striker since Thierry Henry’s departure to Barcelona back in 2007.
The French international has been one of the most dominating strikers in Europe since he burst onto the scene back in the 2009/10 season for Lyon.
Arsenal have been missing a striker who can bag them 25 plus goals a season and now it is looking like they finally have that again.
It is a bit late to be discussing whether or not Lacazette might be a good signing for Arsenal but the 26-year-old’s ability has never been called into question before and given a few starts in the Premier League, no one doubts Lacazette will be able to pay back the money the Gunners paid for him.
With that being said, here are three stats that perfectly prove why Lacazette is an amazing signing for Arsenal.
Goals

Lacazette scored 28 league goals in 30 games last season for Lyon and he managed six goals in eight Europa league games as well.
He is just a natural goal scorer, he has pace, strength and great movement, something a player like Ozil will be able to make the most of.
Lacazette is the sort of player who always seems to be in the right place at the right time whilst also being able to create chances for himself in the process. Considering his French counterpart, Olivier Giroud scored 12 league goals in one less game, Lacazette can be considered an amazing signing based on his goals alone.
Consistency

It wasn’t just last season that Lacazette was scoring for fun, he’s been doing it consistently for years now.
In the last three seasons, the forward has broken the 20-goal mark in the league with 21 goals in the 15/16 season and 27 in the 14/15 season as well.
Consistency going forward is something Arsenal have been majorly lacking in recent seasons and having a player like Lacazette can only help that.
Rarely gets long term injuries

Whilst he got injured a few times last season, they were never long-term injuries.
Players like Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere have never been able to really prove themselves in the Premier League down to long term injuries that keep coming back.
Lacazette rarely gets injured and when he does, it is for a matter of weeks and not months.
If he can keep that trend going, then Lacazette will prove to be a fantastic signing for The Gunners.
