The Premier League is back this weekend as international football takes a break once again.

And it’s back to the business end of the season for West Ham as they face the tough test of Hull City who are looking to survive.

Indeed, not only is it going to be tough enough alone but West Ham also have a number of key figures out through injury.

The West Ham faithful will be hoping that during the international break the gaffer Slaven Bilic took the time to realise that Cheikhou Kouyate isn’t a right-back and that they really should be playing their out and out right-back Sam Byram there instead!

No matter what the Irons have been putting into practice during the international break, they’ll have to adapt to coping without the likes of Winston Reid and their stand out midfield maestro Pedro Obiang for potentially most of the remainder of the season.

Not only that but they have a number of key men out currently with the likes of Michail Antonio a doubt with a knock he got prior to joining up with England.

But with that in mind, we still feel if Slaven Bilic gets his selection just right then he’ll get a much wanted victory against Hull City this weekend.

Here’s who should play…

GK: DARREN RANDOLPH

Following a great international break, the Hammers’ number one will be coming back in even brighter spirits than before he went and will hopefully – for the sake of the Hammers punters here at the tavern – have yet another brilliant display.

Since breaking into the number one spot he’s really made it his own and has been so reliable!

RB: SAM BYRAM

The right-back has to get into the team, after some vital displays off the bench it is time he starts games and gives the Irons an actual right-back in that position rather than a winger in Antonio or a central-midfielder in Kouyate.

He deserves a chance and this could be a game he shows just how reliable and how strong he can be in these vital last few stages of his side’s season.

CB: JOSE FONTE

The Portuguese defender has been away with Portugal this international break, and much to the delight of the Hammers punters here and also much to the relief he has come back unscathed.

With Reid out injured it’s time for the former Saints captain to step up and help lead the defence and ensure his side achieve what they need to achieve.

CB: HAVARD NORDTVEIT

The Norwegian international is a rather versatile player and has a great ability to play along the back four as well as in the heart of midfield.

He may have suffered defeat during the internationals but he’s a great professional and could really be key during this game with all the injury problems.

LB: AARON CRESSWELL

With Arthur Masuaku back from injury he will really push the English full-back and he needs it with how he’s been under performing in recent weeks.

But for us he is still the first choice left-back at the club, though he will need to start performing rather sharply if he is to keep his place.

CDM: CHEIKHOU KOUYATE

The Senegal man had an adventurous time away with his country to say the least when his game was abandoned in the 88th minute after fans invaded the pitch, so the West Ham midfielder will be hoping that he can have a less stressful game this weekend and help his side to victory over Hull City.

He’ll much prefer playing back in the centre of the park and dominating the Hull City midfield.

CDM: MARK NOBLE

The captain is back in training so we’re going to give the medical staff at the London Stadium the benefit of the doubt here and say they’ll get him up to match fitness and onto the field.

Without him it could see Edimilson Fernandes feature in the heart of the midfield, suggesting that this is why, for us by the bar, Reece Oxford should have been kept at the club.

RAM: SOFIANE FEGHOULI

With it likely that Antonio is out of this one, it may mean that Feghouli will take up the right-wing position favoured by the former Nottingham Forest man.

The former Valencia man will have to be at his best to stake a claim to stay in the side, though.

CAM: MANUEL LANZINI

‘Ain’t nobody, like Lanzini!’ – the fan favourite at the London Stadium has really stepped up since the departure of Dimitri Payet.

Not only in bossing free-kicks but also in just simply playing out of his skin, he’s literally everywhere on the field at any one time. He’s a superb little talent that can cause Hull City a whole heap of problems.

LAM: ANDRE AYEW

The Ghanaian keeps scoring off the bench and now perhaps would be the time to put him into the mix of the starting line-up and get him playing.

He could be deadly to the Hull City defence, which has been shaky at times this season. The Hammers punters here at the tavern in particular will be praying that he does just that and grabs himself a goal or two!

ST: ANDY CARROLL

For once, and we are touching the wood of the bar when we say this, but for once with all the injuries that the Hammers have one of them isn’t Andy Carroll!

The big striker is fit and raring to go for the game at Hull City, and Bilic will be hoping he can keep scoring and help his side rocket up the table.
