With the title in the bag already you could forgive Celtic for taking their foot off the pedal and resting up against a struggling Kilmarnock side.

But with an unbeaten season up for grabs its highly unlikely for us here at the Transfer Tavern that Rodgers will stop now!

Celtic could join some of Europe’s elite by ensuring they remain completely unbeaten from game one to the very end.

We’ve already seen them claim the title in emphatic style when they smashed Hearts 5-0 away from home to ensure the SPFL was to head back to Celtic Park, for the sixth year in a row.

Struggling Kilmarnock will probably be in for a very big beating this weekend as the Hoops look set to ensure their record is in tact, and they have no blemishes on their record this season.

So if Rodgers continues to select a strong starting XI, then his Celtic side will have no problems in smashing Kilmarnock this weekend…

GK: CRAIG GORDON

The Scotland number one has been superb between the sticks when called on this season – and he’s really proven that he is a level headed and experienced pro.

Even when he found himself dropped following the arrival of De Vries from Nottingham Forest, he still fought and got back his spot and hasn’t looked back since.

RB: MIKAEL LUSTIG

He’s been the first choice right-back for a number of seasons now and has tasted success every season, it can surely be no coincidence?

Lustig is reliable and gets the job done, why change something that has so clearly worked well for a number of years now?

The Swede is irreplaceable for this season at least at Celtic Park.

CB: JOZO SIMUNOVIC

With Sviatchenko out and Toure only featuring sparsely it is likely that the young Croatian defender Simunovic will continue to feature in the middle of defence.

He had a relatively quiet afternoon last weekend when his side won by five goals against Hearts, but he showed us at the bar the talent he had when called on to stop Hearts; as his side kept a clean sheet.

CB: DEDRYCK BOYATA

The Belgium international has really come along at Celtic since the arrival of Rodgers at the club.

He seems to be able to get the best out of the centre-back and we are very pleased for the former City man.

He struggled originally when he first arrived in Scotland under Ronny Deila but he seems to really be coming out his shell under his current gaffer, and it’s great to see.

LB: KIERAN TIERNEY

The 19-year-old has broken onto the scene in some fashion at Celtic Park and has shown ability well above his junior years.

He’ll be a big star that’s for sure and the Bhoys will really struggle to fend off competition for him this summer, but if they can keep him that’d be a coup on its own this summer.

CDM: SCOTT BROWN

Mr Celtic must be loving this right now, yet another title for his beloved Celtic and the possibility of an unbeaten season.

However that won’t mean that he’ll take his foot off the gas, he is not that type of player.

He knows nothing other than 100% effort and has shown that at both club and country level for a number of years now.

Brown will want to lead his side to an unbeaten season and will do whatever it takes to make that happen.

CDM: NIR BITTON

Rested against Hearts last weekend but it’s very likely that the midfielder will be re-called for this fixture to ensure they have their strongest eleven on the field.

Bitton has been reliable all season and when fit and playing has made a massive impact for Rodgers, fairly similar to another former Israeli Celtic midfielder Beram Kayal, but unlike him the Celtic punters will be hoping Bitton remains at the club.

RW: JAMES FORREST

Forrest has really proven his skills this season under Rodgers and has really shown his critics here at the bar wrong.

The 25-year-old has probably had the best season that he has had as a pro, and it must be something that Rodgers is doing right to get the best out of him.

Either way we are sure that the gaffer will be doing whatever he can to ensure he carries it on till the very end of the season.

CAM: STUART ARMSTRONG

If it wasn’t for Moussa Dembele this lad would be right up their for Celtic and SPFL player of the year.

The 25-year-old central midfielder has been a stand out star this season.

He bosses the ball all around the park and deserves tonnes of credit.

LW: PATRICK ROBERTS

With Dembele likely to be out injured, it means that Sinclair will likely go up top again after a great display with a hat-trick against Hearts- which opens up the left wing for Roberts to slot into.

The Manchester City loanee was superb at the start of the season and in the Champions League, but he hasn’t featured as regularly since but when he has he’s made an impact.

ST: SCOTT SINCLAIR

What difference a year makes!

Last year he was on the brink of relegation to the Championship with Aston Villa and now one year on he is a SPFL champion with Celtic, and scoring for fun.
Rodgers seems to be the manager who can get the best out of Sinclair and he’s proven that at two clubs now with Swansea earlier in his career.
