Manchester United are well and truly on the charge and the United punters in the Transfer Tavern are confident their side can make the top four this season.

Though the poorly time injury of Zlatan Ibrahimovic caused a minor panic in the United ranks, Marcus Rashford has come to the fore in recent weeks and our landlord believes the youngster has the talent to cause the Red Devil’s upcoming opponents multiple headaches in the coming weeks.

Swansea are the first of these sides and United welcome their Welsh opponents to Old Trafford on Sunday, a win is vital in order to maintain the pressure of the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool and our landlord has warned this game won’t be as easy as it seems due to Swansea’s battle against relegation.

The last time these two met saw United 3-0 up inside thirty three minutes in the Liberty Stadium going on to win the game 3-1.

The goalscorers that day were Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who bagged two. Whilst these two superstars have been struggling with injury (Ibra will miss the rest of the season), United need to make sure they secure all three points in this one and our landlord has outlined the XI that will help them do just that.

GK: David de Gea

Arguably the best goalkeeper in the Premier League, de Gea has been wonderful again for United this season.

With a move to Real Madrid in the future inevitable, the Red Devils in the Tavern are hoping this season won’t be de Gea’s last at Old Trafford.

RB: Ashley Young

With Mourinho employing many utility full backs this season, Ashley Young will find it no surprise to find himself in the side at right back.

The United fans in the Tavern have actually applauded Young’s attitude to the cause this season and appreciate him putting their team first.

CB: Eric Bailly

After a slow start, it is fair to say that Bailly has been impressing the United fans in the Tavern of late.

The Ivorian is not in danger of being rotated out of the side due to the lack of fit centre backs at Mourinho’s disposal at the minute.

CB: Daley Blind

With Marcos Rojo, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones all struggling with injury, our landlord expects Blind to line up at centre back alongside Bailly.

Blind will surely be jumping at any time to play for United as he has been on the bench for most of this second half of the season.

LB: Matteo Darmian

Mourinho’s squad rotation will see Darmian play at left back in place of Luke Shaw.

The Italian has found himself playing in either full back role this season and his versatility has been a real asset to United.

CM: Ander Herrera

A true work horse, Herrera will surely be given the task of shutting down the Swans’ Gylfi Siggurdsson come Sunday.

There is no doubt he is up to the task and our landlord has been impressed with the mighty performances of Herrera this season.

CM: Michael Carrick

The consistent performer that is Michael Carrick will surely slot in for the suspended Marouane Fellaini against the Swans.

His calm, composed style of play makes him the perfect anchor in the heart of the Red Devils’ midfield.

RM: Jesse Lingard

The United academy graduate has had a season to remember, the highlight so far being his first England cap.

However, our landlord has stated it may get better for Lingard – especially with his side in the semi finals of the Europa League.

CAM: Wayne Rooney

Back with a goal last weekend, Rooney will be itching to play in the run in to the season especially with Champions League spaces up for grabs.

Whether this will be the England captain’s last season with the club remains to be seen but there is no doubt from the Red Devils in the Tavern that he will give United his all before the season is up.
