After disposing of champions Leicester City with relative ease in their last league match, the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been in good spirits. 

Life under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho hasn’t been the most harmonious, though the Red Devils will undoubtedly be favorites heading into their trip to Stoke on Sunday.

With a few players rested following their midweek excursion, the Portuguese tactician has a strong squad from to which choose for the clash in the Potteries.

Though the home side have endured a dreadful campaign so far, Mark Hughes boasts a vast array of attacking talents able to cause damage to the away side.

Still, the Leicester thumping proved the likes of Paul Pogba can cut it at this level, if afforded the formation in which to flourish.

Now an integral member of the United setup, Chris Smalling is a rock in the rearguard for the Red Devils.

Written off upon Mourinho’s arrival at Old Trafford, Daley Blind’s ball retention is crucial to the Portuguese.

An excellent foil to two more imposing central defenders.

CM: Ander Herrera

Disciplined enough to let his £89m teammate roam, Ander Herrera can rather bizarrely stake a claim to be United’s first-choice holding midfielder.

CM: Paul Pogba

Majestic against Leicester City, the marauding midfielder roaring straight into a leaky Stoke defence should be a sight to behold.

RM: Jesse Lingard

Not the most illustrious of figures at the club, the 23-year-old combines graft and guile in equal measure, allowing the frontline to fluidly move.

CAM: Juan Mata

Another not to be given much of a chance under the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’, Juan Mata is a class act in the playmaking role.

Quickly becoming undroppable for the Red Devils (and England), the 18-year-old is a palpable goal threat.
