Celtic’s thumping of bitter rivals Rangers little under a fortnight ago seems like a distant memory these days, with a loss to Barcelona and draw with Inverness stunting their momentum. 

Still, the Hoops remain in control at the summit of the SPFL table, three points ahead of both Hearts and St. Johnstone, despite playing a game less.

Up next is the visit of Lee Clark’s Kilmarnock as Brendan Rodgers looks to continue his unbeaten run in domestic football thus far.

Despite looking so strong in the opening part of the campaign, the Bhoys were given a run for their money by Alloa in the League Cup last night, suggesting the former Liverpool coach has much more of a task at hand than first thought.

Having said that, the champions have the squad to envy in Scotland and even the most resilient Killie defending will be tested to the max by Celtic’s fluid frontline.

GK: Craig Gordon

Dorus De Vries has had opportunities to establish himself as Rodgers’ first choice, though the summer signing has done little to earn it.

That being said, Gordon should get another chance.

RB: Mikael Lusting

Defensive positioning needs to improve somewhat, though the Swede is making himself a staple of Rodgers’ side.

CB: Kolo Toure

Has looked solid so far, dispelling any suggestions he is past it.

CB: Erik Sviatchenko

Lucky not to be red carded against Inverness, the Danish defender is forming a solid partnership with Toure.

LG: Kieran Tierney

Full-backs may have always struggled in a Rodgers side, though the Scotland international is on such upward trajectory.

A hugely exciting prospect.

CDM: Scott Brown

Looks rejuvenated since Rodgers’ arrival, finding some of the dynamism that seemed to leave him for most of last season.

Looking like a lynchpin again.

CDM: Nir Bitton

The perfect foil for Brown, the Israeli international helps create a strong and solid midfield base.

RAM: James Forrest

Another to look a completely different player since Rodgers arrived, his searing pace is a huge asset.

CAM: Tom Rogic

While the two flying wingers either side of him pour forward, the Australian can pick up positions between opposition midfield and defence to shoot from range.

LAM: Scott Sinclair

Incisive and direct, Scott Sinclair can float across the frontline to devastating effect.

ST: Moussa Demeble

The attacking trident of the Frenchman, Sinclair and Forrest is hugely exciting, with the former Fulham man the lethal spearhead.
