We here at the Transfer Tavern have been very excited by the start that Arsenal have made this season.

They look good both domestically and so far in Europe, after smashing Sunderland last time out.

The Gunners are set to take part in a North London derby this weekend against another side doing well in Tottenham.

With the Arsenal squad looking very much in tune at the moment, it’s hard to look past the red side in North London.

Tottenham currently find themselves in fifth spot in the Premier League table and find themselves still unbeaten so far this term – so it’ll be quite the task ahead for Wenger’s team.

Mauricio Pochettino has had a great time of it so far this season at Spurs, and with the prospect of Arsenal next, it could spell the end of Spurs’ unbeaten run.

With that, here is the Arsenal XI our landlord here in the Transfer Tavern feels can demolish Tottenham this Sunday….

GK: PETR CECH

Cech was one of the main reasons that Arsenal find themselves joint top in the Premier League, making a number of top class saves.

The veteran goalkeeper is still arguably the best goalkeeper in the Premier League, alongside his opposite number on Sunday, Lloris – it will be a battle of the keepers for sure!

RB: HECTOR BELLERIN

Bellerin will for sure be put through his paces by the strong Spurs attacking line at the weekend – his pace will be a key factor in ensuring they don’t get a chance to score.

In contention as one of the very best right-backs that the Premier League has to offer, he’s closely followed by his opposite number Kyle Walker!

Both fairly similar and it’ll be interesting to see which right-back comes out on top.

CB: LAURENT KOSCIELNY

The current captain of the side has been a rock so far at the back for Arsenal and will be vital in the North London derby for the Gunners, as they to try and win bragging rights.

At 31-years-old his years of experience are paying off much to the delight of the Arsenal faithful – he will be hard for the likes of Janssen and the potential returning Harry Kane to break down on Sunday.

CB: SHKODRAN MUSTAFI

The 24-year-old has been the perfect signing for Arsenal so far this season, he looks like what’s been missing for a fair few years at the Gunners – a solid defender.

The German international has forged quite the partnership with Koscielny – it’ll be hard for the Spurs attack to break down.

LB: KIERAN GIBBS

Due to an injury to Monreal – Gibbs has been playing for the Gunners.

After an impressive couple of games during Monreal’s absence, Gibbs surely will play.

CDM: FRANCIS COQUELIN

With Cazorla injured and the club without suspended Xhaka, Arsenal have been lucky they still have the likes of Coquelin to call on.

The French midfielder Coquelin,  will be a tough contest for his North London rivals on Sunday.

CDM: AARON RAMSEY

The Welsh midfielder made his come back from the bench at the weekend, and with Xhaka still suspended it could be a real sting of the tail for Spurs.

The midfielder has been consistent in recent years despite his critics, he could make a real difference in the middle of the park this Sunday.

LW: ALEXIS SANCHEZ

With Giroud making a heroic return we feel he could return to the side in a striker’s role, despite Sanchez performing really well up top.

He has been a quality striker for the Gunners so far this season, scoring in a number of games and we feel he could be the difference for Arsenal out wide against Spurs this Sunday.

CAM: MESUT OZIL

What more can we say about Mesut Ozil?

The World Cup-winner is utterly crucial to the Gunners and their bid for a title!

He loves a game against the rivals and this game will be no different- he will be essential if Arsenal are to get the bragging rights come Monday morning.

RW: ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN

With it likely that Walcott will be absent with an injury, it could give the Ox a chance to prove he is worth a starting spot!

We here at the Tavern feel a great few games coming off the bench warrants him being given the chance on Sunday.

Although he could face stiff competition from Alex Iwobi for his place…..

ST: OLIVIER GIROUD

What can we say to our Arsenal fans here at the Tavern?

The difference maker as Arsenal smashed Sunderland this Saturday just gone.

Coming on from the bench to score a brace, warrants the French forward having his chance on the pitch from the off.

On his day, Giroud can be deadly to any defence in the Premier League.
