Liverpool kept pace with their rivals at the top of the Premier League after a much-needed win over Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.

The Reds dodged two comebacks to comfortably see the game through 4-2, and their supporters in the Tavern were absolutely delighted with some of their attacking play going forward.

But defensively, things were a little shaky again at times, especially early on and these are creases Jurgen Klopp will want ironed out long before the Reds host Watford at Anfield on Sunday.

Watford are going well in the league and will be no pushover, but we’re definitely tipping a Liverpool win at Anfield.

But how should Klopp lineup for the game against the Londoners? More of the same or should he keep things fresh by juggling his team a little?

With that in mind, here’s our Liverpool XI we think will beat Watford this weekend…

GK: Loris Karius

There was little Loris Karius could have done with Palace’s goals and he made a couple of extremely smart saves to keep his side in the game.
Looks a really strong player for the future.

RB: Nathaniel Clyne

Nothing is stopping Nathaniel Clyne from getting in this Liverpool team right now.
Rumours have begun circulating here in the Tavern suggesting Barcelona might be interested in making a move for the former Southampton man, and you really can’t blame them, he’s been fantastic so far this season.

CB: Joel Matip

Joel Matip was fantastic against Crystal Palace, scoring a goal and also playing well at the back.
He’s adapted to life in England with relative ease and he looks a real steal for Liverpool as they aim to push for the title.

CB: Dejan Lovren

Made an error in the build up to Palace’s equaliser but on the whole, gave a decent display at Selhurst Park.

Like Matip, he grabbed a goal to send Liverpool on their way and he deserves to keep his place in the side for the game against Watford.

LB: Alberto Moreno

When given the chance in the first-team, Moreno has been very good at times for Liverpool over the past couple of weeks.

He had a good game against Palace and looked a lot more assured than he has done in recent months.

Could be pushing James Milner out of the team as we speak.

CM: Emre Can

Emre Can marshalled the Liverpool defence terrifically well in the win over Palace and few could argue against him starting against the Hornets.

CM: Jordan Henderson

Has stepped up into the captain’s role with real aplomb and is looking more and more like a leader each week.

Played some fantastic passes into the feet of Liverpool’s front-three and his ability to move the ball coupled with their pace and movement will cause lots of problems for plenty of teams this season.

CM: Adam Lallana

Adam Lallana has been superb for the Reds so far this season and he gave another astute performance against Palace last weekend.

His skill and ability to go round players is fantastic and he was used well in a midfield three against the Eagles.

RW: Sadio Mane

Sadio Mane keeps getting better and better and you really fear for the weaker sides in this division, especially when this man is on the pitch.

His pace is electric and he has real confidence in running at opponents.

Will very much fancy his chances against Watford on Saturday.

CF: Roberto Firmino

On Christian Benteke’s first appearance against his former club, it was clear to see why Roberto Firmino fits so well as a striker in this Liverpool team.

The Brazilian’s movement and ability to bring team-mates into play is why he works so well for Liverpool, rather than the clunky frame of Benteke who wasn’t used to his fullest potential.

LW: Philippe Coutinho

The easiest pick in this side is Philippe Coutinho, who has been absolutely fantastic for Liverpool so far this season.

The Brazilian is full of confidence and that’s reflecting in his play.

He’s fearless, will take players on and moves the ball fantastically well too.
