Liverpool might be stuttering in the Premier League, but cup competitions have served them well so far this season…
An impressive run in the EFL Cup has surely boosted the Reds’ confidence in knockout competition, last night’s defeat aside, and with the FA Cup now beginning to heat up – you can bet that Jurgen Klopp is going to go all in to ensure that his side continues to impress.
That being said, the Reds struggled in the last round against Plymouth Argyle – with the League 2 outfit forcing Jurgen Klopp’s men into a replay after a stellar display at Anfield.
Despite that, Liverpool got through the game unscathed – with a 1-0 win at at Home Park enough to seal progression into the next round.
Next up for Klopp is a tough game against Wolves, and whilst the Championship side are struggling somewhat in the second-tier of English football – anything can happen in the FA Cup.
Jurgen Klopp will likely have learnt his lesson and will pick a few more experienced players on Saturday, but expect a few young players to feature as he looks to progress.
With that said, Klopp must field this exciting Liverpool XI to comfortably beat Wolves on Saturday…
GK – Loris Karius
Loris Karius has been reduced to a backup role at Liverpool after a poor start to the season for the German – but he will likely get a chance to impress in the cup.
He has been inconsistent, but the potential is definitely there.
RB – Trent Alexander-Arnold
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been impressive when given a chance so far this season, and he will likely get another go to impress against Wolves.
He is very solid on the right-hand side.
CB – Lucas Leiva
