The Leicester fans in the Transfer Tavern will be glued to the Tavern TV on Tuesday as they host Club Brugge. Last time in Belgium, the Foxes’ faithful celebrated a fantastic 3-0 victory. Could there be another dream story at the King Power?

Claudio Ranieri has managed to help Leicester to a memorable maiden Champions League campaign, despite patchy Premier League performances.

The champions of England currently have 10 points in 4 games, whereas their opponents have failed to claim a single point.

So, should they revert to their typical continental performance, rather than the one that saw them lose again domestically, it should be relatively straightforward in the east Midlands.

Nevertheless, Club Brugge will not back down and so Ranieri will need to get a result in this game if he wants to guarantee his team’s place in the next round.

So, with that in mind, here is the starting XI that should beat Club Brugge on Tuesday.

Kasper Schmeichel

The great Dane is one of the first names on the list. While the club had strengthened the Keeper area, Schmeichel has still managed to be Leicester’s number one.

With the Foxes knowing that a point could be enough to guarantee qualification.

However, if they do pick Zieler then they still should be able to come out with a result.

Nevertheless, Schmeichel should start if they want to guarantee a clean sheet.

Christian Fuchs

The left-back has been unbelievable for Leicester since his arrival from Schalke last season.

Despite him not playing as well as he was in Leicester’s title winning season, the Austrian certainly makes his way into the starting XI.

With his crossing ability being unmatched by most left-backs, Fuchs could be a major player both offensively and defensively against Club Brugge.

Robert Huth

Huth deserves to be in the squad on Tuesday.

The former Stoke man continues to shock fans in the Tavern as he has managed to hold his place in the team. While some of the squad will be rotated, the German should start to help Leicester claim an important clean sheet.

Club Brugge do have some deadly attacking players and they will try to break the defence in the hope of securing a third place finish.

However, with Huth in the lineup, expect Club Brugge to struggle against the giant German.

Luiz Hernandez

Whilst Wes Morgan might have been the obvious choice, Luiz Hernandez can certainly do the job.

Due to Leicester’s form in the Premier League and also the fact they’ve nearly qualified, it might be worth playing Hernandez at centre back.

He’s mainly played at right back when he starts. Still, the defender can also play in the middle of the defence as well and this could well be a good chance to see how he does.

Danny Simpson

If Hernandez is indeed moved to centre-back, it could meanDanny Simpson will make it into the starting XI against Club Brugge.

Whilst being a regular for Leicester in the Premier League, Simpson has only managed to make one appearance in the Champions League.

The 29-year-old will be motivated in the game to convince Ranieri that he can play any game whether that be in the league or in Europe.

Marc Albrighton

In the Champions League, Albrighton has been brilliant and this should continue if he starts on Tuesday.

The midfielder has been one of the few players in the squad to continue to impress from last season’s title win. Despite only scoring one goal, his performances have been brilliant in the Champions League.

Andy King

The midfielder has recently become a starter again for Leicester and despite losing to West Brom, he was arguably one of Leicester’s best players on the pitch. For that, he should be included into the Champions League starting XI.

The Welshman will be able to fend off the midfield battle he is going to have on Tuesday and hopefully help provide an assist in the process.

Daniel Amartey

While Drinkwater could be included in the starting XI, Amartey will certainly be able to deliver in the Champions League.

Despite not featuring much in the Premier League, he’s played in all of Leicester’s Champions League games.

So why change a winning formula?

The Ghana international will be looking to impress Ranieri with a good performance on Tuesday. If he does impress, then maybe he will be able to get more game time in the Premier League.

Riyad Mahrez

Despite some other first team players not being selected in this line up, Mahrez is a player who simply has to start on Tuesday.

The Algerian has not had a standout season so far in the Premier League, in stark contrast to his heroics last year.

However, in the Champions League he has shown why he should always be playing European football.

Shinji Okazaki

Due to Islam Slimani and Ahmed Musa’s arrival this season, Shinji Okazaki has found first team opportunities hard to get.

However, with qualification in the group practically sealed, why not give Okazaki a chance to shine?

The Japanese international was one of the workhorses of the team last season and the fans in the Transfer Tavern have been slightly rowdy with the fact he isn’t given more of a chance in the first-team.

If Okazaki performs, then expect goals from him and his striking partner.

Jamie Vardy

Coming off the back of a successful game against Spain, Jamie Vardy has to be included in the starting XI. The England international scored for the Three Lions and the fans in the Tavern are sitting by the pool table hoping that now everybody will see the Jamie Vardy of last season.

Unfortunately for Club Brugge, they might be facing Vardy at the worst possible time and if he can work with the starting XI, could find his form again.
