The Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are dreaming of the Premier League title as the Blues’ Italian revolution shows no signs of letting up.
Antonio Conte’s rejuvenated team are top of the league for Christmas with Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City trailing behind.
They are on an incredible run right now having won eleven games straight so the Blues’ boss will be hoping to maintain their form in front of goal.
Diego Costa and Eden Hazard have hit 20+ goals between them in the Premier League this season, but are the Blues too reliant on this lethal partnership?
Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are understandably nervous as whilst Diego Costa and Eden Hazard are firing right now, what happens if their form dips?
Michy Batshuayi appears to be struggling with the pace of the Premier League and the youngster Dominic Solanke is yet to make an appearance this season.
The January transfer window, then, is a great opportunity to bolster the team with extra firepower, but who can Chelsea realistically sign in January to help win the title?
Here, then, are four strikers that could make the grade at Chelsea according to our landlord…
Willian José
The former Brazilian U20 international is a clinical finisher and would team up well with Chelsea’s elder Brazilian of similar name.
Willian José currently has nine goals for Real Sociedad in the Primera Division this season, whilst at 6ft 1″ and just 25 years of age, the powerful forward is hitting his prime and would be a great fit for the Blues. Our landlord thinks this would be an inspired choice.
Edin Dzeko

The big Bosnian hit man has plenty of experience on the biggest stages in world football and would suit Chelsea nicely.
Indeed, he has Premier League experience and is currently scoring well at AS Roma in Serie A with 12 goals in 17 appearances.
At 30 he may not be a long term solution for Antonio Conte but he could be the seasoned back up Chelsea need to win the title.
Anthony Modeste

The former French U21 international is currently lighting up the Bundesliga with 12 goals in 15 appearances for FC Cologne.
Anthony Modeste is a big powerful forward, an old fashioned striker if you will, and is an accomplished finisher.
Whilst the Frenchman may appear to be a ‘wild card’, his goal scoring record speaks for itself and this opportunity could give him the chance to get in to the French national team, in the same way it worked for Dimitri Payet!
Romelu Lukaku

The Belgian forward has unfinished business at The Bridge.
He failed to make an impact at Chelsea in 2011 and was loaned out to West Brom the following season. In 2013 he joined Everton on loan and was eventually signed in 2014 following a terrific debut year.
The ambitious Belgian is on fire this season scoring 9 goals in 16 appearances for Everton and could be the perfect forward to add options to the Chelsea attack. The big question of course is would he be prepared to play second fiddle to Diego Costa? Our Landlord isn’t convinced.
