Our landlord here at the Transfer Tavern has already got one eye on the January transfer window, thinking about the players clubs should be looking to sign.

Not only should clubs be looking to add to their squad, some of the teams should look to be moving on some players who have yet to impress them thus far this season.

With that we turn our focus here at the tavern to the red half of Manchester with Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho made some brilliant purchases in the summer, the likes of Eric Bailly, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic but didn’t seem to clear much of the deadwood at the club.

The United faithful here at the Transfer Tavern were probably hoping he’d get rid of some of the players who have yet to impress since their arrivals to Old Trafford, in order to improve the squad further.

With that here are FOUR players at Man Utd, the fans would surely like to see the back of…..

Phil Jones

Since he arrived from Blackburn Rovers, the English centre-back has been on a downwards spiral with bad performances and injuries being his biggest woes.

The 24-year-old has found himself as 4th choice behind Bailly, Smalling and Blind!

Our Man Utd punters here probably cannot wait to see him leave the club after never really impressing them.

Ashley Young

When you think Manchester United wingers, you think Giggs you think Beckham you don’t jump to the conclusion of Ashley Young!

When he arrived in Manchester from Aston Villa, he was a decent player but with age he has become unreliable and doesn’t find himself on the team-sheet too often these days, and he’s not getting any younger.

For sure he should be thinking of finding the exit door at Old Trafford.

Matteo Darmian

After an impressive World Cup with the Italian national side, many clubs turned their attention to the young right-back in that side Matteo Darmian, at the time he was at Torino having not made it in his time with AC Milan.

Last season under Van Gaal he found himself second choice to 18-year-old Fosu-Mensah and now Darmian finds himself behind Antonio Valencia under Mourinho.

Surely the Italian must be trying to find a flight back to Italy to re-start his career again.

We are sure United fans won’t mind either!

Bastian Schweinstieger

This one is with a heavy heart for us here at the Transfer Tavern, but we will feel United fans will be happy to see him go!

Not for his lack of passion or his lack of ability, but for him to go and try to carry on his successful career.

The 32-year-old arrived with a massive pedigree but for some reason Jose Mourinho doesn’t seem him in his first team or even in the squad.

We are sure he’ll be leaving soon and go back to being one of the best there ever has been!
