5 Euro 2016 Group A stars Chelsea must consider signing in the summer – Agreed?

The Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been a fairly miserable bunch this season and are hopeful of better results next time around.

The Blues finished a lowly tenth place in the Premier League and Italian boss Antonio Conte will have a tough task on his hands to restore the faith among the Chelsea supporters, when he arrives following Euro 2016.

Chelsea will not be in Europe next season and attracting the very best players in world football could prove tricky for the former Champions of England.

Euro 2016 will see some of the continents finest footballers take centre stage in France, and Conte might see the tournament as a chance to scout some of the very best talent ready for his Chelsea adventure.

Our writer Lee Clarke takes a look at FIVE players from Group A who Antonio Conte could look to sign for his Chelsea team next season……

The dream signing for any Premier League club during the summer months will surely be that of this French international, who has been in irresistible form for Atletico Madrid during the 2015/16 campaign.

The forward has 22 league goals this season and the ex-Real Sociedad man is hot property across European football, with big money bids expected for the player this summer.

The 25-year-old will be a big player for France at this summer’s European Championships and incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte would love to have a player of his ilk to rely on next season too.

Ricardo Rodriguez

Antonio Conte is likely to shape the squad exactly how he wants it during the summer, and that could mean the need for some defensive acquisitions ahead of the next season.

Tough-tackling left-back Ricardo Rodriguez could be well worth a look for the Blues, with a massive requirement to shore up a leaky defence ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.

The 23-year-old has had a solid season in Germany with Wolfsburg and will head to France in the summer, looking to have a decent Euro 2016 with Switzerland.

Chelsea are not blessed with lots of options at full-back and the addition of Rodriguez would add some much needed quality and depth to the position.

Nicolae Stanciu

With Chelsea not competing in European competition next season, they could be forced to shop within their means which could mean players of a somewhat lower ilk.

Romanian attacking midfielder Stanciu could be a good option for the Blues and the Steaua Bucharest man would no doubt jump at the chance to join Chelsea.

The 23-year-old has scored 23 goals for the Romanian outfit in his 85 appearances and is blessed with neat technical ability and also has an eye for a pass, making him a shrewd player on his day.

Romania might not have a great chance of doing well at Euro 2016 but any success they do have is likely to be down to this man performing well at the tournament.

Elseid Hysaj

The Albanian right-back is one of the stars of the future in European football and he has enjoyed a convincing first season with Napoli over in Italy.

The 22-year-old has a lot to offer and his physical style of play would really suit the Premier League, with the player in a similar mould to that of Branislav Ivanovic.

Albania will embark on their very first European Championships during the summer and Hysaj will be hoping to make the cut when the squad is announced later in the month.

Husaj could well be a key player for Chelsea in future years and his ability to play at the heart of defence would offer some much needed versatility to the back four also.

Paul Pogba

Whilst it might seem like an ideal signing for Chelsea, the chances of signing him whilst not in the Champions League look nigh on impossible.

Football can be a strange old game these days however and money certainly talks, with the Blues hoping to bankroll a series of high-profile signings this summer.

Pogba looks likely to play in the Premier League again one day and Chelsea are one of a few clubs who could afford the central midfielder.

The addition of Pogba would almost certainly guarantee the Blues a place back among the top four of the Premier League and would represent a real coup.
