Well its over.
The most ridiculous season in Premier League history has reached its turmoil and incredibly Tottenham Hotspur managed to finish 3rd, in what seemed to be a two horse race.
The club seemingly had very little room for improvement after battling with Leicester City for the top spot for a large part of the season, but somehow Mauricio Pocchetino’s men managed to finish below their north London counterparts, Arsenal, for astonishingly the 21st season in a row.
It was a sight that no Tottenham fan could believe, and neither could any Arsenal fan who feared the worst, as Spurs sat 5 points clear of the Gunners with just 4 games to go.
Nonetheless, Spurs had a remarkable season, scoring more goals than any side and losing just 6 of their 38 games.
However Tottenham’s alright crumble shows that there is in fact room for improvement, so our landlord here in the Transfer Tavern has selected FIVE players from Euro 2016’s group A that could be a perfect fit at White Hart Lane next season…..

Fabian Schär
There are plenty of young classy centre backs around these days, Varane, Stones and Marquinhos seem to get all the plaudits, but here is one man who certainly deserves some credit.
Fabian Schär has been a rock for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga this season playing 24 matches at the back.
At just 24 years old, Schär has 19 caps for the Swiss national team scoring 5 goals, all from centre back.
With Hoffenheim finishing 15th in the Bundesliga, a string of key performances in France could lead the Swiss centre back to the Premier League, with Tottenham perhaps looking to strengthen their defence and their substitutes bench.
Blaise Matuidi
Spurs have been slated by the Press and fans alike over their spineless display at St James Park last Sunday.
With Dele Alli and Moussa Dembele both out of the side, Spurs are a completely different team.
Tottenham need a player such as Matuidi as competition for their fine midfield and to make sure that the side have backup for injuries and suspensions, the 29 year old would cost around £20 million, but the PSG midfielder would be worth the cost.
Andre-Pierre Gignac
Now this one could be a gamble, but Tottenham have taken their chances many times in the past.
Of course, very few strikers can compare to Harry Kane, and Gignac is far from competing with Kane however the Frenchman would be an excellent back up to the Golden Boot winner.
Who knows what would have happened to Spurs, had Kane sustained an injury.
Gignac, at 30 years old would come cheap but is still a goal-threat, grabbing 31 goals this term.
Steve Mandanda
Well Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris is joined by Mandanda in the French squad this summer and faces a tough competition for a starting place.
Mandanda is an excellent keeper with great reflexes and reactions.
Perhaps, not quite as good as Lloris, there are plenty of rumours here in the Transfer Tavern that Lloris will be leaving the club this summer, and very few Spurs fans will trust Michael Vorm, especially after his antics at Stamford Bridge.
Mandanda would be a perfect replacement or backup for Lloris.
Lucas Digne
With no disrespect to Tottenham Hotspur, the world’s best such as Raphael Varane will not want to go to White Hart Lane as it may seem like a step down for them, especially from Real Madrid.
That said, Lucas Digne is perhaps one of the world’s most underrated players.
The 22-year-old played 33 games for Roma this season, even grabbing himself 3 goals.
Digne, at 22, has won the French league title twice and earned himself 12 caps for the French team.
In 2013, DIgne was transferred for over £11 million and he would clearly be fierce competition for Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld in the Tottenham line up.
