After completing his first season at Anfield, it would appear that Jurgen Klopp plans to spend the summer overhauling the squad that he inherited from Brendan Rodgers.
Whilst thus far he has been forced to rely largely on talent that he had not personally chosen, this summer offers the first real opportunity for Klopp to place his stamp on his Liverpool team, with a number of players expected to leave the club during the current transfer window.
Alongside this however, Klopp is expected to replace them with that talent that he feels fit his image and his style of football.
Here in the Transfer Tavern there has been rumours for weeks, with a number of big names rumoured to be on their way to Anfield.
Our landlord thinks there might even be a few surprises on the cards for Liverpool fans……

Samuel Bastien

One player that is expected to complete a move to Anfield over the coming days is Samuel Bastien.
Currently plying his trade in on loan in Serie B with club Avellino, The Daily Mail is reporting that Liverpool have opened talks with his parent club, Anderlecht, over a proposed move.
The Mail report that the deal will cost around £4 million, a relatively small fee in the modern game.
This one looks like its going to happen at any point over the next few days. With both parties interested, and the low fee offering Liverpool very little risk, there is no real down side to this deal going forward
Yacine Brahimi

Liverpool are also supposedly set to launch an audacious £45m bid for winger Yacine Brahimi.
The 26 year old Algerian currently plays in the Portuguese league with FC Porto, where he has received a number of plaudits for his performances over the last year.
The Liverpool Echo are running with this story, and are suggesting that a bid appears to be imminent, suggesting that Jurgen Klopp is keen to get the deal done quickly.
They add that they face competition from Manchester United, so the deal certainly isn’t done yet; but this definitely has the makings of something that could happen shortly.
Gonzalo Higuain

Another superstar signing that Liverpool are rumoured to be interested in making is that of Gonzalo Higuain.
The argentine striker has been unstoppable for Napoli, having scored 71 goals in just 104 appearances for the Italian outfit.
With strikers being a relative weak spot for the Reds, with Daniel Sturridge suffering with injuries and the rest of their forward line marred by inconsistency, Higuain would certainly offer a lot to Klopp.
The deal would certainly be expensive, but given the added funds with the new premier league TV deal coming in next season; it could certainly be affordable.
And it appears that Higuain himself is interested in the move, according to The Daily Mirror.
It looks certain that Higuain will be on the move this summer; Klopp just has to ensure that he comes to Liverpool.
Alex Oxlade Chamberlain

Liverpool are also reportedly interested in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, currently playing at Arsenal.
Whilst Chamberlain appeared to be a superstar in the making during his teen years, his career has recently stagnated, plagued by niggling injuries and a lack of first team football.
Rumours have been rampant in the tavern, with many Arsenal fans happy for the young Englishman to leave, but we’re sure they wouldn’t be happy seeing him go to a side like Liverpool.
We’re sure that it would be a great move for The Ox however; with Liverpool likely offering first team football.
The Liverpool Echo is again reporting on this one, suggesting that Arsenal are willing to sell; with Liverpool interested.
Should the clubs agree on a fee, this could be a move that works out for all parties.
Pepe Reina

This is one that I’m sure nobody expected to see.
Despite leaving for Bayern Munich in 2014, it appears that Reina might find himself back at Anfield.
Whilst this is out of left field, its easy to understand why Liverpool are interested. Reina was a rock between the sticks during his time with the club, and they have largely failed to replace him since he left.
Mignolet has largely been disappointing, and many fans in the tavern have been clamouring for a replacement.
The Daily Mirror are running with this story, as well as a number of other outlets, suggesting that Klopp is interested in adding more depth and experience to his goalkeeping line-up.
The chance to return to the club where he had so much success would be a difficult proposition to turn down for Reina, so if this interest is concrete; this could definitely be something that happens over the coming few weeks.
