It started with the sale of a world class talent in Luis Suarez, and has ended with failure in an FA Cup semi final, failure to qualify for the Champions League, the departure of a club icon in Steven Gerrard, and now the likely departure of one of their prized assets in Raheem Sterling.
Brendan Rodgers faces a huge summer transfer window as he hopes to revive the Reds fortunes, with Liverpool currently looking as far away from the title as they ever have, since they last won it 25 years ago.
Next term the target will be the top four and some silverware. Here we have identified five signings that would go a long way to helping the Reds achive that goal – and perhaps keeping Rodgers in a job.

If you look at who goes, Balotelli £10m, Borini £10m, Lambert £4m, Lucas £8m, be prepared to sell Allen £10m so about minus £48-£58m, possibly throw in players like Aspas, Wisdom, Albert and you may get another £15m so for me it works if the world spins exactly the way Liverpool wants it to.
