Tottenham fans at the Transfer Tavern have been writhing in misery this past week as they watched their side hand over their chances of Premier League glory at Stamford Bridge, during a 2-2 draw last weekend.
The Spurs faithful distress was further deepened on Sunday as Maurcio Pochettino’s side sunk to a 2-1 defeat to Southampton, thanks to a rare brace from Saints’ midfielder Steven Davis.
Certainly the two results have been a low point in what has been an otherwise excellent season at White Hart Lane, with only a point needed for the Lilywhites to secure 2nd place and their best ever Premier League finish.
If Harry Kane and Co. want to go all the way next campaign, summer reinforcements are a must in North London. And with reinforcements, unfortunately comes departures.
After a dismal performance in the defeat at St. Mary’s, our locals have berated 24-year-old Ryan Mason, with many of them tipping the youngster to leave the Lane this summer.
With the midfielder being linked with a move to Bournemouth, the Transfer Tavern investigate’s who could follow the former Swindon Town loanee this transfer window……

‘Sorry, who?’ came a cry from the corner of the Tavern.
Signed from Lyon for £8 million last summer, the Cameroon striker has made a measly 6 appearances all season, scoring a grand total of zero times.
Although sustaining a nasty injury in the December which partially explains the lack of playing time, the forward has failed to make an impact at White Hart Lane when given the opportunity, and is highly tipped by our landlord for a move away this summer.
Nabil Bentaleb
Once the talk of the Transfer Tavern, the Algerian International has seriously struggled for playing time under current boss Pochettino.
222 minutes intact is all the youngster has amounted this campaign, and finds himself way down the midfield pecking order behind the likes of regulars Christian Eriksen and Eric Dier.
A move for first team football seems inevitable.
Federico Fazio
Currently on loan at Europa League finalists Sevilla, Federico Fazio moved to the Spanish club on deadline day last year in the search for regular game time.
The Argentine’s wish has not been granted however, making only four La Liga appearances all campaign.
With no place at the back at the Lane due to the fine form of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, Fazio is stuck in limbo.
Ben Davies
Former Swansea man Ben Davies has been unlucky since his 2014 move to White Hart Lane from Wales.
With undoubted quality, the only thing keeping the 23-year-old out of the starting line up has been the excellent form of the more experienced Danny Rose.
In a defence which has leaked fewer than any other Premier League side all season; it is unlikely the Welshman will find much playing time next season.
Harry Kane
A glass smashes in the Tavern’s corner …. Now while this move is extremely unlikely, Tottenham’s star man has attracted plenty of attention this season following his impressive sophomore campaign.
Many of Europe’s top clubs – including Real Madrid – are said to be interested in securing the 25 goal striker who currently leads the charge to the Premier League Golden Boot.
If a Gareth Bale-esque offer came in, could Pochettino and the powers that be refuse?
