And what a game we have to kick proceedings off with Tottenham facing Liverpool in a mouth-watering lunchtime encounter that has the added spice of Jurgen Klopp managing his first ever fixture in English football.
It’s safe to say our resident Liverpool supporters have been absolutely ecstatic since his appointment last week and they are incredibly eager to see which new tactics the German manager will employ on this Reds side.
Having lost their way under Brendan Rodgers in the latter stages of the Northern Irishman’s reign, Liverpool are only four points off second-placed Arsenal right now so there is plenty to fight for with the season still being far from a total disaster.
With Reds fans praying for a victory tomorrow lunchtime while hoping that the likes of Leicester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and West Ham United slip up with these sides in front of the Reds at present, it could well turn out to be a cracking weekend for everybody connected with the Kop.

Because Liverpool have beaten Spurs the last five times they’ve faced off
While Tottenham versus Liverpool looks like one of the most evenly matched Premier League fixtures on paper, you only have to consult the stats to see that the Reds have beat Spurs in the last five matches played out between the pair.
In a stat that Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be desperate to avenge tomorrow afternoon, everybody connected with Liverpool is optimistic when facing the North London side and with several players in this current Liverpool side having got the better of Tottenham in recent times, confidence will certainly be high.
While Jurgen Klopp is new of course, the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Alberto Moreno, Simon Mignolet and Mamadou Sakho have already played against Tottenham last season while coming out on the winning side and this will prove crucial in terms of belief.
Because Tottenham play expansive football themselves
Given the nature of the two sides as outfits which harbour ambitions of playing in the Champions League, yet residing in the inferior Europa League at present, it’s fair to say that both teams preach an expansive style of football in order to get them to the promised land of the top four.
With no David versus Goliath element to this fixture, both sides will be going for it and that’s why this fixture has witnessed so many goals in recent times.

In football, you cannot underestimate the impact a new manager immediately brings to a dressing room in terms of belief, a new set of goals and altogether a different outlook on what the future may hold.
In Klopp, Liverpool have acquired an incredibly charismatic coach who will demand the absolute best of his players not only out on the pitch but in training and as they go about their daily lives and it is this mantra which is proving a right hit with Reds supporters right now.
Having witnessed Klopp work miracles with Borussia Dortmund over in the Bundesliga, Reds supporters are incredibly hopeful that the German will oversee an upturn in the club’s fortunes and with so many good things said about the man himself this week, you’d imagine this feel-good factor will be transmitted to the players tomorrow too.
Because Daniel Sturridge is fully recovered
With every Liverpool supporter issuing a kind thank you to England boss Roy Hodgson who refrained from selecting Daniel Sturridge for the Three Lions’ final two European Qualifiers recently, there has been ample time for the Reds striker to fully recover back at Melwood.
Bagging a brace on his return against Aston Villa a few weeks back now, Sturridge wasn’t even fully fit on the day so with the player having rested up in the meantime, you’d imagine that he’s chomping at the bit to start the game at Tottenham tomorrow.
Ever since he’s joined Liverpool, there’s been no doubting Sturridge’s quality and clinical nature in front of goal but rather his injury record so with the former Chelsea man fit for tomorrow’s fixture, we think he could have a big say on the final outcome.
Because Liverpool have scored at least three goals in their last five meetings with Spurs
On our first slide, we revealed how Liverpool have beaten Tottenham on the last five separate occasions they’ve faced the London side but dig even deeper and you’ll find that on every one of these occasions, the Reds scored at least three goals to boot.
Whatever Liverpool side turns up against Tottenham, it seems to bring the worst out of the Lilywhites’ defence with an aggregate goals conceded tally of 15 being absolutely appalling in a game of this magnitude.
While you’d imagine that Mauricio Pochettino would’ve done his homework on why this is proving to be the case, Liverpool simply seem to enjoy attacking Spurs’ rearguard and with Philippe Coutinho also back in the Liverpool fold after injury in addition to Daniel Sturridge, we think it could be the same old story for Spurs when you consider Klopp is in town now too.
