The Premier League campaign so far has raised all sorts of interesting topics in the Transfer Tavern; the impressive form of Leicester City and West Ham United, the poor form of the North East teams and the inevitable relegation battle they face and the rapid decline of Premier League champions, Chelsea.
However, one of the main things that’s got fans talking is the prolific form of in-form striker, Jamie Vardy.
Vardy has managed to bag himself 11 goals so far in the campaign, not only making him the Premier League’s top scorer but he has also managed to score in eight consecutive games, only two games behind record holder, Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
Obviously Vardy’s form has earned him a lot of admirers and a list of clubs keen to be the front-runners for his signature including Premier League clubs, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
Although Foxes’ fans are desperate to keep Vardy at the club, here are five reasons why we think that Vardy would be better off leaving for either Liverpool or Spurs.

A better established Premier League club
Although we take nothing away from the tremendous effort by Leicester to once again reach the top flight of English football, there’s a large chance that City’s fortunes will last. High-flying Foxes currently sit 3rd in the Premier League, above Manchester United, Tottenham, Liverpool, Everton and Chelsea.
If nearly any team had been offered 3rd position at the start of the campaign, they’d have taken it there and then. However, with the season only being young, Leicester may not have a strong enough squad to maintain the position in the league as they are arguably punching above their weight.
If Vardy wants to prolong his tenure in the top flight, he may need to jump at the chance of a firmer foundation in the shape of Liverpool or Spurs around him.
Form of his life
It’s no secret that Jamie Vardy is currently in the form of his life. His goal to game ratio so far this campaign strongly justifies this, scoring 11 goals in the space of eight consecutive games so far this season. The Premier League’s top goalscorer has attracted a lot of interest from different clubs around the world including Spanish giants, Real Madrid.
However, all good things must come to an end meaning that Vardy’s form will not last forever so now is as good a time as any to pack his bags and make the most of the doors opening in front of him.
Better players will improve him
It’s no doubt that the Leicester City squad is filled with talented players capable of getting results in the top flight of England. Looking at the bigger picture, the reputations of English giants, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, are always going to help these clubs to attract better players with the potential of building a team to challenge the top four.
The better standard of players on the training ground will help Vardy to develop his game a lot more as he is required to adapt to the challenge that the better players will provide.
England opportunities
When England manager, Roy Hodgson, is set to pick his squad of players to represent the country, he will first look towards the best teams.
Although Leicester have made a strong case for themselves this season with Vardy being called to the squad for upcoming clashes against Spain and France, it will be easier to gain a cap when playing for one of the “bigger” Premier League teams.
Liverpool and Spurs have already had a list of players to represent England; Jordan Henderson, Danny Ings, Harry Kane, Kyle Walker and Adam Lallana to name a few. With Vardy already being 28-years-old, now is the time to make a name for himself on the international scene, before it’s too late.
Reputation at Leicester
Since arriving at Leicester in 2012, Jamie Vardy has made 108 appearances for the Foxes and scored 36 goals. His goal to game record is hardly fantastic at the moment but there is no doubt that the majority of Leicester fans see Vardy as a quality player who gives his all on the pitch.
It’s all well and good that Vardy is making a name for himself now and increasing his reputation but it would be awful to see Leicester’s hottest prospect follow the same path as so many players who stayed at a club for too long and allowed their form to dip slowly as they slip down the pecking order with the manager and the fans.
If Vardy was to leave now, the majority of the Foxes’ faithful would understand and Vardy would be free to leave on a good note while he looks to take his career to the next exciting level.
