5 strikers that will help Liverpool win the Premier League next season

Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern know that unless manager Brendan Rodgers makes some seriously good buys this summer, exile from Europe’s top competition  is pretty much guaranteed yet again.

Given their manager spent a huge sum last summer and failed to bring in a forward who could score enough goals to win them matches, we have come up with five forwards they need to be chasing this summer.

The Reds might not like it, but they also have to have a dose of realism here, and realise that players will not be too impressed with their performance this season and the fact that they have failed to make the Champions League will of course have a huge impact on who they can attract.

With that in mind, we have taken a look at five of the forward Liverpool could realistically buy and who would help them in their quest for domestic dominance next season.

Edin Dzeko

Dzeko
The forward wants to leave Manchester City and has already proven just how goods he can be when things are going well for him and he is playing regularly.
Rodgers and the Reds could do a whole lot worse than landing the forward and we think that he would be one hell of a buy – and is reportedly willing to turn down advances from Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho should Liverpool come calling.
It will be all change at City this summer and Dzeko could well be easily bought given his shaky status at the club.

Danny Ings

Ings
It looks like Ings is about to leave Burnley this summer and Liverpool are the club he seems to be linked most frequently with.
Reds fans would be right to be cautious over signing Ings after their transfer disaster last summer –  and while Ings is a decent player, quite if he is someone to win you the title remains to be seen, but this season, he has certainly scored enough goals to warrant a chance at a top four side.

Charlie Austin

Charlie Austin
Austin is a class forward and this season has been seriously impressive for QPR, who let’s be honest have had a terrible season.
Austin would be right to look to leave QPR this summer and chase a chance at a bigger club, and while some players might be put off by the fact that Liverpool will not be playing Champions League football next season, Austin would jump at the chance to play in the Europa League.

Falcao

Falcao
Now before Liverpool fans dismiss this out of hand, give us a second to explain. Falcao might have been poor this season, but he has never really been given a chance to impress, with Louis van Gaal clearly not a fan of the player.
He still has quality and is desperate for a club, and having settled in the north of England, could actually turn out to be keen on a move to Anfield.
It would be a risk, but unlike the Mario Baltoelli one, it would be worth taking on a player who works his socks off and has plenty of hunger to prove himself.

Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema
Real Madrid are another club who will be all change this summer, and while Benzema would clearly prefer a club in the Champions League, the status of Liverpool and the Premier League plus a healthy wage packet could well swing his opinion.
He is a goal scorer and while he is not in that very top bracket, he is certainly better than anything Liverpool have had in a very long time, and is someone who could really make a difference to their side.
A big transfer and one that would cost serious cash, but one worth doing.
