It’s been a slow start to the season for Tottenham, with two points from a possible nine and without a win from their opening three matches.
Pochettino’s men held onto their lead at Leicester for the grand total of one minute on Saturday, and left the King Power Stadium with a point when it should have perhaps been three.
Goals have also been a problem, with Harry Kane yet to fire having hit more than 30 in all competitions last term.
In what has been a quiet transfer window for Tottenham and Pochettino, it would appear the club are crying out for someone to support their prized asset before the close of the transfer window.
With this in mind we have identified five strikers Spurs should target before the deadline window slams shut.

Saido Berahino
The Baggies striker is Pochettino’s reported top target, having watched him fire 20 goals in a struggling side last season.
Berahino has also linked up with Harry Kane at international level for the England Under-21’s, and offers that pace and direct running in behind.
West Brom are demanding £25million for his services, but Spurs are hopeful a deal can be completed for less before the close of the transfer window.
Charlie Austin
Austin has been the subject of much speculation this summer, with a host of Premier League clubs eager to take him after he fired 18 goals for relegated QPR last season.
£15million is the asking price, a figure that Tottenham would be able to afford having just offloaded Roberto Soldado.
Whether he would link up well with Kane as a partnership is unclear however.
Javier Hernandez
The man known as ‘little pea’ has returned to Manchester United on a season on loan with Real Madrid, yet still can’t manage a Premier League start, despite the club’s own striker shortage.
Tottenham have been linked consistently with Hernandez in the past, but have never actually lodged an official bid.
There is no time like the present though, with the Mexican a proven goalscorer at Premier League level.
Alexandre Pato
The Brazilian is not considered to be one of the brightest young talents in world football as he once was at AC Milan, but he still has goal scoring pedigree.
He has spent the past few years in his homeland with Corinthians, but the Brazilian giants have said publicly they are keen to sell this summer.
Tottenham have been linked in the past with the forward, and reports last week suggested they were considering an offer before the close of the transfer window.
Burak Yilmaz
The Turkish striker has been scoring goals for fun over the past few years for Galatasary, and has previously been courted and praised by Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
He is understood to be keen on a move to England, with London rivals West Ham seeing a £3.5million bid rejected last week.
If Tottenham are willing to increase that offer, they may well land themselves a bargain on a striker who knows just how to put the ball in the back of the net.
