Liverpool fans can hardly contain their excitement in the Football Transfer Tavern ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Old Trafford.

For perhaps the first time in Premier League history, the Reds travel to take on Manchester United as favourites, after a season which has seen a dramatic swing of 40 points in their favour in 12 months.

United have been in steady decline under David Moyes, whilst Liverpool have looked a new team altogether under Brendan Rodgers.

They currently occupy second place in the Premier League, and look well set to finish in the top four and bring Champions League football back to Anfield.

There has even been mention of a title challenge, with Liverpool seven points behind leaders Chelsea with a game in hand.

They also welcome Jose Mourinho’s side as well as Manchester City to Anfield before the end of the season – a ground in which they have only dropped four points all season long.

It’s been a season Liverpool fans perhaps weren’t expecting, with the goal at the start of proceedings being to at least hold a sustained challenge for the top four.

But Brendan Rodgers has built a team full of exciting attacking players, who have scored more goals than any team in the Premier League (73).
