Do Not Sell My Personal Information

6 Crystal Palace players Alan Pardew must axe in the summer – Agreed?

Despite their fairly impressive start to the campaign, Crystal Palace are now languishing in 16th position in the Premier League table – and Palace fans here in the Tavern admit they’re disappointed with their Prem campaign!

The club do have an FA Cup final against Manchester United to look forward to, so all is not that bad.

Manager Alan Pardew must be wondering where it has all gone wrong for his side, though ultimately he must be aware that his squad depth is not very strong and that he needs to bolster his side this summer.

However, there are also a number of players who Pardew should be looking to potentially sell at the end of the season in order to free up some additional finance and bring in some fresh faces.

Fraizer Campbell

Campbell

One player who Pardew might be looking to sell is striker Fraizer Campbell.

The former Manchester United and Tottenham man has made a total of 11 league appearances this term, yet he has failed to manage a single goal or assist in that time.

The 28-year old’s current deal expires in 2017 so Palace could look to extract some money from him before they risk losing him on a free transfer.

Marouane Chamakh

Another striker who could be set to depart Selhurst Park is former Arsenal man Marouane Chamakh.

The 32-year-old has also failed to accumulate a single goal or assist in the league this campaign, and Pardew could look for him to depart as well to free up some money and room in the squad for a new striker to come in.

Emmanuel Adebayor

Crystal Palace’s forwards have been extremely lacklustre this campaign and Adebayor is yet another of those who could make way for future signings.

The Togo all-time top goalscorer joined Palace in January on a 6-month deal that will run until the end of the season, and it is unlikely that he will remain for any longer.

Since his arrival, the former Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham striker has managed just one goal and one assist in 13 matches in all competitions.

Ezekiel Fryers

Ezekiel Fryers

23-year old Ezekiel Fryers moved to Crystal Palace from Tottenham back in 2014 but has failed to make a significant impression.

The defender has made no league appearances this term on the back of a string of unsuccessful loan spells at Rotherham and Ipswich.

Having played for the England under-16, under-17 and under-19 teams, Fryers has failed to build upon his potential.

Brede Hangeland

Central back Hangeland is now 34 years of age and the fact that his legs are tiring is by the fact that he has only managed seven league appearances for Palace this season.

The Norwegian defender, formerly of Fulham, is expected to depart Selhurst Park soon.

He actually departed the club last summer after being released, before renewing his contract a couple of days later, keeping him at the club for this season.

However, it is extremely unlikely that he will renew again, meaning that he will leave on a free transfer.

Jonathan Williams

Midfielder Jonathan Williams is another player who is expected to move on after this campaign comes to a close.

The 22-year-old has made just 1 appearances from the substitutes’ bench this season after he was recalled from a loan at Nottingham Forest, before joining MK Dons on an emergency loan in January.

However, when that loan comes to an end, the Welsh international is not expected to feature again for Pardew’s side.
