£60m transfer kitty: 2 summer signings Liverpool should seal if they had £60m at their disposal

Liverpool have seen their season stall somewhat after what was a really positive start for the reds, and they look like once again falling short of the Premier League title.

Jurgen Klopp has been trying to mould his team to play exactly the way he wants them to since he took over, and he has had some really positive results, including a 2-0 win over Spurs last time out in the Premier League.

This form has pleased our Liverpool fans here in the Tavern, and a lot of the talk this week over by the fruit machine has been around how Liverpool can improve their squad this summer.

Klopp is likely to want to invest in some quality in a few positions, and will be hoping for the backing of his board when it comes to summer signings.

We agree with this thought, so with this in mind, here are TWO players Liverpool could look to sign in the summer with a £60m transfer kitty…

Marcel Schmelzer

Klopp is likely to be in the market for a left back given he has made do with James Milner for much of this season, and he could turn to his old Dortmund left back Schmelzer.

The German has bags of experience and is a class act, and would fit the bill perfectly for Liverpool.

Dortmund are unlikely to want Schmelzer to leave, but he could be a viable option for the Reds.

Andre Gray

The Burnley man has shown enough in his first season in the Premier League to suggest he could move up to an even higher level, and Liverpool might well fancy a move for him.

His pace makes him a dangerous opponent for even the toughest defences, and he looks like he is only going to get better.

Gray could be an excellent addition for the Reds long term, and will add goals and power to their front line.
