73% of polled Tottenham fans want to sign Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik

Tottenham Hotspur’s second striker conundrum has been an issue for Mauricio Pochettino to ponder over for the entirety of his time in charge of the club, but a solution to the problem does not seem to be edging any closer.

That Kane is so incredibly consistent is ensuring that Tottenham are able to compete in multiple competitions with just one recognised striker of sufficient quality. Manchester City have Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero to chose from, Liverpool have Dominic Solanke, Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge in the event of Roberto Firmino’s injury, and Chelsea have both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud.

In summary: the top teams can all boast having at least two quality strikers on their books, but the likes of Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen are clearly not cut out for this level.

With that in mind, we asked Tottenham supporters if they would like to sign a new striker to offer support and an alternative to Kane in attack, namely Arkadiusz Milik, and the result was overwhelmingly in his favour.

Indeed, 73% of polled supporters would like to see the Poland international arrive in north London, despite the fact he is not blessed with a completely prolific record in Serie A.

But that is a consequence of his preferred style of play; Milik is a natural hold-up man who tends to drop deep to collect the ball before linking up play in the final-third, and his presence would provide Spurs with a completely different set of attributes to the one boasted by Kane.

Daniel Levy has been criticised for his tight-fisted approach to the transfer market so far in 2018, but one does get the feeling that his policy will change once the stadium move has been completed and the fear of unexpected costs relating to its opening have been put to one side.

If and when Levy decides to open his cheque book once again, it seems the Spurs fans would love to see him launch a raid on Napoli for the 24-year-old attacker.
