Speaking on his future at Newcastle United (via Daily Star), Tottenham summer transfer target Allan Saint-Maximin has dropped a hint he could leave St James’ Park if the Magpies fail to achieve their targets.
According to a piece by the Daily Mail, Spurs ‘expressed an interest’ back in June, and the Frenchman has now come out and dropped a potential hint he could be available for a move at the end of this season.
Saint-Maximin shines
Saint-Maximin has been a standout star for the Magpies ever since his £16.m move from Nice in the summer of 2019, attracting interest from a number of top clubs as well as Tottenham.

Indeed, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy was reportedly eyeing a summer swoop, and the 23-year-old has aspirations of playing in Europe as part of a ‘dream’ move – something that Spurs could potentially offer.
The Frenchman also opened up over his difficulty in getting picked for the French national team, going on to hint that playing for a top six side could make his life easier in that regard.
Transfer Tavern take
Newcastle manager Steve Bruce certainly rates the winger, describing him as a player with ‘scary ability‘, and Tottenham could be contenders for his signature at the end of this season if Newcastle fall below par.
Bruce also lauded ‘quite the find‘, a notion that’s easy to understand given Saint-Maximin averaged a highly impressive 4.7 completed dribbles per game in his debut Premier League season (WhoScored).
Whether or not Levy takes the plunge next summer, or even in January, remains to be seen, but the Frenchman could be quite the Spurs coup.
